Profile

Lilah was surrendered to RAGOM by a Good Samaritan who rescued her. She is adjusting to indoor living and takes cues from other dogs, so a confident resident dog is required. Any children in her home must be older than 5 due to her tendency to jump up for attention. Lilah has not been tested with cats. A physical fence is optional as she does well on a leash. Lilah needs a patient and loving family to help her to flourish as well as plenty of chew toys to satisfy her puppy urge to chew.

Lilah has found a fabulous adoptive home with two humans and a confident, happy-go-lucky Golden Retriever as a big fur brother to show her the ropes.

Lilah is such a sweetheart. She loves to snuggle and has fit into our household rather easily. She is thought to be about one year old and has already had a litter of ten pups. She was kept outside or in a garage for most of her short life, so being inside and confronting all kinds of strange sounds and sights is scary.

Lilah is much more confident and happy if my resident dog is around to show her that everything is OK, so another confident dog is a requirement in her forever home.

She is eager to meet new dogs and is quick to give a play bow. She enjoys toys, playing tug, and romping in the snow with my dog.

Just a few of the things that are scary:

  • Getting into and out of cars (although she rides nicely)
  • Car doors slamming
  • Coffee grinder
  • Clanking dishes
  • Drawers and cabinets being opened
  • Sudden movements

She has already made progress. She no longer startles when I blow my nose (I guess that happens a lot) and she has jumped into my car twice now without coaxing or seeing my dog enter first!

Despite having been an outdoor dog, she is house trained and has not had one accident. And she sleeps through the night! How great is that!
