Lili was adopted on October 24, 2020!

She was welcomed by her dad, mom, and fur brother Rudy. Lili was very relaxed since this was the second time she met her forever family. Lili and Rudy (the two-year-old resident Golden boy) started playing in the backyard right away. They enjoyed having each other very much. She will be loved and cared for and have a wonderful Golden life!

Hello everyone, I am Lili, a petite Golden girl from China. Yes, China! I was rescued earlier this year and traveled to the United States on the 1st of September.

Although my journey to a new home was bumpy, the outcome was surprisingly good. I was welcomed by my foster mom and foster brother and settled in fairly quickly. It only took me a couple of days to adjust, get over my jet lag, and set up a new routine.

I have learned to go outside to do my business. (Well, a couple of incidents are always inevitable, but I am 99% trustworthy now and keep improving.)

I was completely crate trained and I can sleep through the whole night in it. Since I have been doing so well, Foster Mom let me sleep in her bed recently—yay! During the day, I have gained the trust to free roam.

I have found a perfect playmate! I started playing with my foster brother Douglas on day one, and we were all worn out by the end of the day. You can imagine how much fun we had. He is almost 7 years old, not as energetic as I am, but he kept up with me well.

We wrestle and play fetch. Yes, I am a Retriever. Foster Mom was surprised how fast I got the idea of retrieving a ball. I love tennis balls and her flock of chickens—they do not like me apparently. I show a little interest in my feline brother. He is just a fluffy ball, quiet and wired, and I prefer to stay away from him.

A lot of things happened in the past two weeks: Foster Mom had my nails trimmed and ears cleaned on a weekly basis. I did so well and she even started brushing my teeth.

I went to the vet’s office and met Dr. Grace. I liked visiting the vet’s office because everyone there was so nice, and they gave me a lot of pats and treats. Dr.G said I was a healthy pup and everything was good except I was a little underweight. I eat well and drink well, and Foster Mom has been working hard to put some weight on me. I will definitely cooperate with that. I love food—and treats!

I enjoy riding in the car. I also enjoy walking with Douglas and my foster mom, and I am getting better with leash walking. I am easily distracted by the smells along the road, but I will get back on track as soon as she corrects me.

I do not react to other dogs; I think they are all my friends. I made a lot of new friends (my neighbor's dogs). They came to my yard and we played and played. I can be an only dog, but I would need dog playmates.

I like people and kids of all ages, but I am very young and playful so children in my forever home should be at least 5 years old. And I will need a family who has the time to train me and play with me often.

I am learning tricks: I know “sit” and “come” very well and will let you know what I have learned next time my foster mom updates my page! See ya!
