Howdy my friends of RAGOM! My name is Lily and foster mom said I could do my update for the very first time since I’ve been behaving so well this week / weekend! I’m getting much more used to my foster family and I’m not as afraid of everything anymore. I still wish I could run around more with the other dogs however foster mom worries about me running away still so I’m stuck on my leash all the time! Once I get better at coming back when I’m called they said they might let me get off the leash once in awhile! Foster Dad also says I’m doing so much better with the walking on a leash thing I might not have to walk with a gentle leader anymore, I’m so excited to be here that and I’m getting treated so well here with all these walks and pets…my foster brothers are also way too much fun to be with!!
So this medicine in my ears is soooooo wonderful! I don’t have to itch them very much anymore and I don’t have to scratch my head on the ground ever because they are getting better! Foster Mom say’s I go to the vet on Monday 10.28 and hopefully I don’t have to put more medicine in my ears! I’ll also be very happy once this antibiotic is over tomorrow, although I do like the treat it comes in. I seem to be itching less in general so I think that zytrec stuff mom gives me is working wonders. I’m so happy that ya’ll came to visit my page and I really hope that you come back soon. My brother and I love the attention! I'd still like to go to a family with my brother Jasper if at all possible, I would miss him if we get separated! Thank you and come back for more updates soon!
Sincerely,
Lil

Updates on Lily from Grand Forks here! Foster mom here telling you that this sweet girl could pretty much go anywhere that would love a Golden! She is so loveable, gentle, and good with anyone/any dogs that this pretty girl could be yours today! She is very energetic, however. If she gets out to play ball, go for a walk, or gets at least a little outside time, she will be just happy in your family. Lily does like to run still, though. Her recall is getting better, however she will be in need of a fenced yard for at least the near future, unless you keep her on a leash while you’re outside. She does try to take off after the resident deer population while we are outside, so any wildlife, look out! She doesn’t seem to take off after squirrels or our family chickens, though, so just the deer get her excited. She is not so good with fires. She is scared when we start a bonfire, so anything with fireworks or bonfires would be a good thing to stay away from. In general, it seems like she still spooks easily with loud noises or new people. However, with people, after the first pet of her head, she melts in your hands!
Lily’s ears are doing SOOO much better! She got the same waxy stuff put in her ears as her brother Jasper got put in his. It delivers the medicine to her ears and stays in for 2 weeks, so on Monday 10/28, we have another recheck and hopefully a 100% clean bill of health will come along with that visit. She is not really shaking anymore for her ears, so that is very encouraging as well. She is itching a bit still, however. The vet started her on an antibiotic for 2 weeks to take care of a skin infection she has and she has also been started on generic Zyrtec to see if it helps her allergies. All in all, Lily is a pretty healthy dog and the vet is happy with her progress.
Lily absolutely loves to play with our resident dogs and would do it constantly if we would let her! She wrestles with anyone that will wrestle back with her! She is so much fun to have around. We don’t know how she is around cats or other animals except dog. No guarding of any kind with her food or toys. If we are watching TV, she will chill out and lay down. She is good about playing fetch and retrieving the ball. This girl has a bit of mischievous side, though; she likes to run, as I said earlier, and will test your patience if she thinks she can win. Extremely smart dog and is really doing well with her basic commands. We are still working on come/recall. She will walk with a Gentle Leader and press on a bit (walk ahead of you too much). However, a quick correction will fix that. She is starting to learn where she is supposed to walk, heel, and getting way better on the leash. Yesterday while walking, she was so excited to run for a while that she pulled on the leash to go back when we were done! Best part about Lily and Jasper is that they easily respect any boundary that you set for them and then they also don’t beg for food! Such good dogs!

So sleepy!

She just won't smile for the camera!
