Lizzy 05-201

Profile

Lizzy is a four year old spayed Golden who is HW+, but otherwise healthy. She weighs 71 pounds and appears to be a purebred. Lizzy is an owner surrender from a Humane Society and was great with both people and other dogs while there, and previously lived with another dog. She is very sweet and calm. She heeled during our whole walk and did not pull ahead once. At the vet's she made friends with a very tiny kitty.

Lizzy got a day of beauty yesterday! She got a bath, her nails clipped, her teeth brushed, and a bandana to wear around her neck. She is feeling very pretty today. She has more pep in her step than previously and she is smiling more. She still has not had her heartworm treatment. The vet thinks that we can start it in the beginning of August. Lizzy is still on antibiotics for pneumonia, but her health has improved considerably from when I first got her.

Lizzy will be ready to meet her potential new family soon. She just finished being treated for an ear infection and she has more energy than she did when she first arrived. Again, I must stress how sweet Lizzy is. Everywhere we go I get compliments on her. We can not make it through a morning walk without a comment on how sweet she is. Lizzy likes to carry things in her mouth on our walks; currently, she is attached to a little stuffed sheep. At times, she likes to carry one of my flip-flops, but she never chews anything. Lizzy likes wading in the water to cool off. She would probably swim, but I would not let her off the leash and I did not want to get wet. Lizzy loves to be brushed and combed, too. She will make someone a great companion. Lizzy is going through heartworm treatment today. It will be tough on her, but she is a resilient girl. I will update after the treatment on Tuesday or Wednesday.
