Lucy & Abby 04-084085

Profile

Lucy is 9 (soon to be 10) and her daughter Abby is 6. These poor girls originally came to RAGOM in the Spring of 2004 when their original family moved and couldn't take them along. They were adopted by a loving family who has had to return them due to a change in family circumstances. I feel so bad for these girls because they lost their original family, came into foster care, were adopted, and now are back in foster care. These poor girls want a home they can call their own. These two are great - they are so sweet and loving. Are you looking for that perfect dog that just fits easily into your life? Well, I have 2 for you.

Abby is such a love bug - she will stay by my side in hopes that I will hug her, kiss her, and her favorite…pet her. The way Abby looks at me just makes my heart melt. It's almost like she is begging for me to keep her. At night I know she would like to sleep with me but my bed is too high for her to get up on, so she will either lay next to the bed or go into the spare bedroom and sleep on the futon.

Lucy loves to watch TV - it's so cute. She will come when she's called to go out and then she usually will return to watch TV. She will seek me out for attention but she is content with chewing on a rawhide and watching TV. Lucy is the boss of the group…after all she is the Mommy. Lucy will clean/slobber Abby's ears and head. Abby doesn't mind because after all …Yep, that's right, Lucy is the Momma. Lucy enjoys following my son around and I believe she sleeps in his room at night or close by.

You can tell these girls are related - they look so much alike. Lucy is getting a little white around the eyes and could probably lose a few pounds. Abby also needs to lose weight.

Both Lucy and Abby enjoy going for walks and they are nice walkers, swimmers, they do not run away and love car rides. I haven't experienced storms with them but on their intake form it says that they will hide and cry during a storm. They are both housebroken - we have had 0 accidents. They will cry or go by the door when they want to go out. They love to play and are very active for their ages.

Abby and Lucy do the cutest littlest dance when they greet you or when they are excited about something. Lucy only barks when she is telling one of the other dogs what to do.

I would love to find the right family for these girls - they need a permanent home to call their own.

I haven't experienced any problems with the girls yet but I've been told that they like to chew on shoes. I haven't even seen them lick their chops at one pair. I think they may seek out inappropriate things to chew on when they are bored. During the day I baby gate them in the puppy room. They respect the baby gate and stay in there. Lucy and Abby get along with submissive male or female dogs, but I think they should have a home of their own or go to a home with a submissive dog. Lucy doesn't care much for my puppy (he's only 4 1/2 months old). They get along great with Amber who is about 9 and docile.
