Luna 11-335

Profile

Meet Luna! She is one of Hope's 10 puppies. She is a Golden Retriever/Black Lab cross and is cute as can be! She has a mostly black coat with a white sideways butterfly patch on her chest. Luna was born on Saturday 9/24, making her 4 weeks old! Luna is the smallest girl and the second smallest puppy of the litter. Her voice on the other hand is very BIG! She lets you know how she feels about everything :) She is very vocal... and is no push over! She is a little more independant and loves her snuggle time.  The puppies are all thriving! They are busy exploring their world and being cute... which they are very good at! They are also very good at making a mess and making us laugh! They have recently started eating a softened kibble and drinking water from a bowl, in addition to nursing from their mom. The puppies LOVE to eat. I joke that my foster puppies are very "advanced" for their age..... because they live with a 2 1/2 year old little boy and they want to get the heck outta here :)  Luna has to stay with us and her brothers and sisters (and mama too) for awhile yet... but she is ready to meet that very special family that she will call his own when the time comes. Please let your placement advisor know if you are interested in meeting little Luna. Prepare to fall in love! Stay tuned and watch them grow :)  A very special thank you to all of the supporters! So many very generous RAGOM volunteers and other dog lovers have gone above and beyond to make sure the puppies and Hope have everything they need. It takes a village, and we certainly feel the love and appreciate it very, very much!

We wanted to share a photo of Luna taken on her second birthday, September 24th. We adopted and took Luna home the day after Thanksgiving, 2011 when she was eight weeks old. Our family quickly fell in love with her. She has a very sweet personality, is very affectionate, and has many cute traits. She likes to get on the back of the couch and chair cushions and wrap herself around your neck. She loves going on daily walks and gets along well with other dogs. She is a good camper on our annual trip to Voyageurs National Park and enjoys riding in our boat.

We can't imagine life without Luna.

The G Family

Luna, or little Lu Lu as we call her is the smallest of all the pups... but still little miss fiesty! Full of fire and full of love! :) Lu has an in between coat length and will probably have a medium length coat as an adult dog... not quite a lab coat, but not quite a golden coat, a perfect mix! She also has the perfect mix of spunky and sweet. She is a favorite of many and loves to find her way into someone's warm arms or coat when she is tired of tackling her siblings :)

Luna will see the vet and receive her distemper booster on Tuesday 11/22 and will be spayed on 11/23. Following her spay she will be ready to go to her forever home! Speaking of her forever home.... she found her family today!!! :) She will go home with the "G" family one week from today! We are so excited for all of them. We know LuLu will give them her all and fill their home with love and laughs for years to come. Congrats to all!!

The puppies turned 5 weeks old on Saturday! Time sure does fly :) I am happy to report that all 10 pups are happy, healthy, spunky, and pretty much perfect in every way! They are a very social bunch and are lucky enough to interact with a large variety of people of all ages. Giving them a ton of positive interactions with people and my dogs will help them grow to be confident, social and good all around dogs! Any family who adopts one of these beauties will be very lucky and very happy!

The pups were dewormed for the first time early last week. It is extremely common for puppies to have worms so this was not a surprise, nor cause for concern. We picked up the deworming medication and after a few days of passing large amount of worms the puppies are back to feeling good again. We will deworm them again in a week or so, and most likely when they move to their new families they will have one last dose.

Speaking of moving to their new families... both Zorro and Mamba are officially "adoption pending"!!! We are very very excited to know that these sweet babes are both going to fantastic homes! As hard as it will be to say goodbye to them when it comes time to move on, we know they will be loved and cherished (and their families have promised to keep us updated with pictures as they grow)! Two other families are coming this weekend to meet the crew... wish the puppies luck as they prepare to charm their forever family!

All of the puppies will be making their first trip to the vet on Friday! I will report back after their appointment. We anticipate a good report :) Let's hope foster mom survives the 10 puppy vet trip.... ;)

I must send a huge THANK YOU to my fellow RAGOM volunteers for their continued help and support! It would NOT be possible to take this on without you. It means so much!! :)

New individual pictures and updates next time! Stay Tuned!
