Maddie is a 4 year old Golden mix. I’m guessing she’s about 40 pounds but she looks like a miniature Golden! She’s spayed and will be up to date on all shots when we take her to the vet this weekend.
Maddie arrived at our home on Monday. She was very unsure at first but is already settling in and becoming more comfortable with her surroundings. She was very scared of the refrigerator but is already over that. Maddie warms up to people very quickly and loves attention (especially belly rubs!). Within a few hours of having her, she was laying quietly at my feet and occasionally laying her head on the couch beside be so that I could pet her. While she’s great with our resident dog on walks or racing around the backyard, she gets nervous in tight spaces with him and shows her teeth. I think she would be great in a one pet household. We took her on a walk yesterday and she was wonderful, no pulling or stopping. She loves going out in the backyard and running around on her own. She does the funniest thing where she grabs her tennis ball, tosses it up in the air and then races after it. Maddie’s perfect home would be a quiet one without any other dogs or small children. Watch for another update more after the trip to the vet on Saturday.
