Maggie (Maple 19-045)

Profile

Maple left behind a life as a commercial breeder and came to RAGOM to find her forever home. Maple is a healthy dog who is gradually acclimating to life in a house. She has lots of energy, especially when outdoors on walks and playing. Because she can be pushy, Maple requires a home with no children. Another large confident dog is required to help her grow into a great dog. A fenced yard is preferred. Maple has chewed through cloth leashes, so a plan to keep her safe outdoors is essential.

Maple's 19-045 one last post!  I am transitioning to my new family, I have a big brother who will continue to show me the ropes.  My new Mom works from home so I will be able to keep her company all day long!!

I know Foster Dad is very sad and misses me but at the same time is so proud that I am moving on and he has an open invitation to visit me whenever he wants.

Sorry it’s been awhile since my last update, but Foster Dad likes to give me head scritches almost as much as I like getting them, and it’s hard to focus when he does that!

Foster Dad says I continue to improve and get a little bit braver every day. I love playing with my brothers and I love when Foster Dad rolls around in the grass with us, too. Where Koda will sit on him, I like to lay on top of him. He is soft and warm. So I like having pet humans.

Foster Dad is working on teaching me some commands and while his boys pay attention to him... well I’m not ready to listen to a human male. Okay, occasionally I will do as he asks just to see him get all excited, plus I get treats and I really like treats!

Walking: he still complains that I walk too close or that I’m too bouncy. He calls me Maple Tigger. I just like to “pop wheelies” once in awhile. And yes I usually end up over the top of one of the boy's leashes and he has to get it out from under me before I will continue. He needs the exercise after all!

Most days we walk about 7 miles between the two walks and I still have plenty of energy for play in the backyard when we get home.

The last couple of meals I’ve been cutting him some slack, and if he sits down on the couch near my food I will eat. Granted, I like it better when he lays down beside my dish. He tells me, however, that many humans won’t do that so I better adjust!

I guess that’s enough for this week, bark at you again soon!

Hello my name is Maple and my profile number is 19-045. I am a female purebred Golden Retriever who is just over 2 years old. I am blonde and beautiful. I am done with having puppies. The people who surrendered me could see I didn’t want that life anymore.

I have lots of energy, particularly when we are outside. I do love to be outside playing with my foster brothers or joining them for long walks at least twice a day. I stick pretty close to either of my brothers or more likely their human (my Foster Dad)!

I love getting attention, head massages, full body massages, and even hugs, although I wasn’t as excited about those at first. Now I will snuggle in to get one. I am, however, still a bit timid around new people. Foster Dad spends a lot of time on all four legs with us to make me more comfortable.

I currently enjoy free roam of most of the house I am living in, though I spend most of my time either in the kennel or by the patio door, hoping Foster Dad will take us in the yard!

I am hoping for an outdoors type who likes long walks or runs and hanging out outside.

I need a confident, well-adjusted companion dog about the same size as me to help me learn how to live the Golden life. I prefer no children as I can be a bit pushy and jealous about it. Since I really love to play outside, a fenced yard would be best until I learn to trust you. But a really good plan of keeping me contained might be okay.

Foster Dad says to tell you I can bite through cloth leashes with a single or maybe secondary bite, so you MUST be with me outside and watching carefully. Foster Dad says he is going to talk to a friend to see how I do with cats, though he thinks I will probably be okay.

If you can meet these requirements and want to be my furever family, please apply.
