Here is Pup - the sweetest dog you will ever know! Pup wandered onto a family's property in the country last May. They tried very hard to find her owner, but could not, so they fed her and let her stay in their yard. They also tried to figure out her real name, but after trying many names, they decided she came best to Pup, so that is what she has been! She was assigned the name Sophie when she came in to RAGOM, but we have been calling her Pup as she definitely thinks that is her name!
Pup has been an outside dog for the last ten months, but she couldn't be happier that she now is an indoor dog once again! I'm sure if she could talk, she would tell us over and over again how happy she is to be inside! As soon as she got out of the car when we arrived at our house, she made a beeline to the door and was elated that she could go in. She now goes outside to potty and go for walks, but is most eager to get back inside. She doesn't want to take the chance that we might forget to let her in!! I think being inside is so important to her that she is in 7th heaven!
Pup was surrendered because the people who found her didn't have time for her and also because she would look through their windows and bark to be let inside.
Pup is a wonderful house guest. I can not say anything bad about this dog. She is very gentle, loving, coexists wonderfully with our resident dog, was great with the former owner's small grandson, is completely housebroken, sat nicely for her bath, ear cleaning and nail trim, walks nicely on the leash, doesn't counter surf, is kennel trained. She loves to be brushed. Oh, she does love doggy toys and bones, and can rearrange the body parts on a doggy stuffed animal in no time! But, gee, isn't that what they're for??
I think Pup would fit in to just about any household. She is overweight at 84 pounds, so she will need to continue on the trim and tone regimen in her forever home. She also is going to have some X-Rays to check her back and hips as she seemed to have a problem on one of her numerous trips up and down the steps to keep up with my routine! Other than that, she is in good health and is thought to be 5 or 6 years old.
