Mason came to RAGOM by way of a breeder auction. Now that his breeding days are over, he’s looking for a family to teach him all about the Golden life! Because of his breeding background, Mason’s forever home will need to have another medium to large, confident dog. He hasn’t been tested with cats. Children in his home should be at least 10 years old. A physically fenced yard is optional as long as Mason’s family has a plan to keep him safe.

Mason moved to my house from his temp foster’s home in April. He met my dogs with no problem as he explored every corner of the yard. Of all of the former breeder dogs I have had, Mason is the most social of all.

He loves both people and dogs. One common trait with former breeder dogs is they aren’t used to the human touch. Some enjoy it and others remain fearful. Mason can’t get enough of being petted!

My grandsons came over to meet him along with my son and Mason was excited to meet them because that meant more hands were available to pet him!

For the first few days, I kenneled Mason when I left the house and at night because I wanted to keep him safe. It didn’t take long for him to earn my trust. He never chewed anything inappropriate and only had one accident the second day he was here. That was my fault since I didn’t know he was trying to tell me he had to go out and he wasn’t sure of which door to go to.

Mason went to the groomer because a family was coming to meet him. I’ve included two pictures of him with his gorgeous red coat.

They brought their two dogs to make sure the dogs would get along and everything went great. They decided to add him to their family which also includes four older children. This lucky dog will have a lot of hands to pet him now!!

We miss you, Mason, but you will have a lot of fun with this active family!

Please welcome Mason to the RAGOM family. Mason was sold at an auction on March 6 and has been in foster care since then. Mason will turn 5 years old on June 5.

Mason looks larger than he really is. He has a very thick and luxurious deep red fur coat. He weighs in at 73 pounds or so. He sleeps in his crate at night with only a peep when he needs to go out for a potty break. He also eats all of his kibble and treats in his crate so that he associates his crate as a safe and fun place.

Mason has been patiently waiting for a permanent foster to take him. For now, he is sharing a big backyard and home with Maria 20-067 and three other dogs. Mason likes to sneak toys from Maria's crate as she is quite a hoarder. We had to safely stow all stuffed toys out of reach as Mason likes to shred them.

Because of his breeding background, Mason’s forever home will need to have another medium to large, confident dog. Children should be at least 10 years old. A physically fenced yard is optional as long as Mason’s family has a plan to keep him safe.

Mason does not seem to be bothered by the thunderstorms we had recently. You should have heard him snoring while he slept next to Foster Dad.

Mason will be all up to date on his vaccinations next week when he has some booster shots. The only thing we need to do is to arrange for his neuter. If you are interested in knowing more about Mason, please contact applicationatragom [dot] org.
