2/23/07: If you are looking for a mellow, easy, low-maintenance dog then you had better get ready to email placement - this boy is going to go FAST. Max arrived this afternoon and boy oh boy - he is such a sweet, mellow dog. Max is 7 years old and his family was very, very sad to give him up. They loved him dearly but their family circumstance made it impossible for them to keep him anymore. He comes from a house with kids, dogs, and cats so he's used to just about everything! Max is a little overweight right now so will need a little doggie dieting along with nice long walks to slim down a little. I would guess (don't hold me to this!) his target weight would be around 65-70 lbs. Maybe a little more.

I'll tell you what I have seen so far: met my dogs wonderfully, could care less about my cats, looooooves my kids. When a neighbor child accidentally held the door open and Max walked towards it, he stopped immediately when I said no even though the door was still open! His family said he stayed in their yard when they told him to even with no fence. Tonight he is a little bit worried, is pacing around the house just trying to make sense of what has happened to him, poor guy. But, every time he turns a corner someone gives him a hug and lots of lovies so he knows everything will be OK.
