Max was adopted on March 1st. He will be living a very active life with his new furry sister, Sasha. They are exactly one month apart in age and both are very busy dogs. Max's previous family's wish for him to have a dog playmate have come true.

Max and Sasha are enjoying long daily walks and a lot of play time in their fenced yard. There will never be a dull moment for Max's new mom and dad.

Thank you to all of the RAGOM volunteers that helped Max get to his forever home.

Please welcome handsome Max to the RAGOM family. Max's family entrusted this wonderful organization to find him a new home that will have more time to give him a happy life. Another young, playful dog and bigger kid/s would fulfill his wishes.

Max had a 9 hour transport to his foster home. There were several RAGOM volunteers that participated in his travels and he was a very good boy for each and every one.

Foster Mom did his last hour of transport and was excited to get him out to stretch his legs. Upon arrival he sniffed out his new yard and met his new roommates out on the sidewalk and they took their "welcome walk". He was then able to check out his temporary house, everyone got situated and he settled in his crate nicely for the night.

This first week Max has been good friends with his new roomies. He loves to wrestle with the younger female Golden. She is 2-3 years old and weighs 46 lbs.

He has great manners - he does not resource guard, jump up, counter surf, dumpster dive, beg, mount the other dogs or bother any inappropriate items. He has had zero accidents in the house and is allowed to free roam all night. He does crate easily when no one is in the house supervising.

Max knows all the basic commands. He loves to play with a ball. He fetches and he is an excellent catcher. He can pounce on a ball if he has another ball in his mouth. Max is definitely a fun guy to play with! He is a very happy-go-lucky Golden.

Now Max needs to explain to you about his leash manners, well, he has no leash manners! Max is very strong and he pulls very, very hard. We waited a few days to see if this would improve after he settled in, but it did not.

We have started using a Gentle Leader and that does the trick. He is going to need a lot of practice and positive reinforcement to get this leash thing down! He is also going to need a daily exercise routine which is going to entail more than playing ball in the yard.

Foster Mom and Dad say that you are going to have to explain to Max how you are going to plan to make this part of your life - EVERY DAY! Plans will also need to be in place so that Max has someone to be with him after work hours. This is something to think about if you have a busy family as Max is a young boy that needs his human interaction as well as physical and mental stimulation.

Max will be seeing the vet this week to have his "procedure". We have not talked to him about this yet but he has to be neutered before he can head to his furever home. Usually only a handful of days after that is over he will be ready!

Please remember that Max will need a family that will be diligent with exercise and including him on their adventures. He will also need a strong handler due to his lack of leash manners!
