Happy Holidays everyone!
I feel like Mynx really got into the Christmas spirit this week because she has really opened up! Mynx has settled in nicely and it only took 1 week!We took Mynx to several different places within a two day period. She did a great job interacting- though she was timid at first, Mynx seemed to slowly let people and dogs in. Mynx followed us around the entire time we were visiting new homes, but she also interacted with the other dogs well, and people. She loves people to pet her and showed everyone how calm she is. Everyone wanted to keep her! Even though at times Mynx tends to become a little protective over her FM and FD towards other dogs she has bonded more with Nova (resident dog). She seems to take a little longer than normal to get comfortable with new people, even though that continues to improve!
Also, Mynx and Nova are getting along better, but if there is something Mynx really likes, like a toy, she has a hard time sharing and tends to growl a little at Nova. It seems she becomes territorial and just wants her own space at times, and doesn't hesitate to let Nova and other dogs know that. However, this is a none issue with humans.
Mynx did a terrific job riding in the car to our Holiday celebration destinations. She sat in the back nicely or laid down...she took up the entire back seat. :) Nova rode in the back with her and it was a tight squeeze but they both did awesome for the more than 1 hour rides one way!
Another thing we found out about Mynx is she is not a fan of a crate- it takes quite a bit of coaxing and pushing to get her to go in- she much rather prefers free roam- and does great too!
Also- Mynx loves to sleep on the bed with her FM and FD. Since she is quite a big girl so she doesn't leave us much room :) She also always loves to join us on the couch too! We have not had Mynx around children, but feel she would be fine. She did a great job with the puppy at one of the houses this weekend and the cat.
After getting to know Mynx a little bit better here are some things we think would be ideal for Mynx in her furever home. Mynx' ideal furever home:
- People that will love me and give me extra special attention
- People who don't mind being followed around everywhere
- A fenced in yard- since we are still getting used to a leash
- With or without resident dog
- Family who doesn't mind having dogs on their furniture
Mynx is truly a sweetheart and we are excited for her to find her furever home!
