Hi RAGOM,
Unfortunately, this is our final update on McGraw. He was diagnosed with lung cancer a few weeks after his December birthday, and it advanced super quickly, taking away his appetite and ability to breath well.
We said goodbye to him on February 1st. MN Pets came to our home and he went peacefully surrounded by us and all of his critter friends. He was such a special guy, he brought so much joy to us.
McGraw was an amazing companion. He was so loyal, always at our side, ready to take part in whatever was planned - lounging in the yard, going for car rides, snuggling, visiting parks, traveling to the family cabin and more.
He was a model of great doggie behavior, never chewed up anything, and never had one accident in the house in his almost three years with us. And the most endearing thing about him was that he always had a big smile on his face.
He was ten years young when he joined us, but we were able to see him almost age in reverse, as he lost weight and gained mobility and fitness. He reveled in his multiple daily walks around the neighborhood and in the year of the pandemic visited over 100 different parks in the metro area with us. It was so fun to give McGraw such great “golden” years.
We will forever be grateful to his foster, Hannah, for doing such a wonderful job showcasing McGraw’s personality through her stories and photos. We fell in love with him before even meeting.
And we are grateful to the individual that surrendered him to RAGOM after McGraw’s owner died. We would always say that we could tell that McGraw was so well loved in his prior life.

Hi RAGOM,
Here’s another update on McGraw #18-009 -
McGraw turned 13 in December! He celebrated with some lounging on the bed, snuggling with his favorite friends, and eating a tasty burger!

McGraw continues to enjoy his “golden” years with us and is now 12 1/2. He’s had to have some teeth removed, and takes medicine daily for arthritis, but overall is doing really well for 12! He likes going for his multiple daily walks, going for car rides, lounging on the couch and bed, and spending as much time with us as possible.

Hi RAGOM,
We wanted to give you an update on McGraw (18-009) -
McGraw is doing great! He now weighs about 85 pounds, likes to walk 3-5 miles a day, spend long weekends at the cabin, visit the family farm, and roll around in our yard. Attached are some photos. He’s a great addition to our family!

McGraw has found his forever home with the B. family where he will go for lots of long walks, play at the family farm and cabin, enjoy car rides, and be the center of attention. He is a very lucky dog!

Curly McGraw has been loving the warmer weather! He has been going for a ton of walks and getting in his sniffs. He is noticeably getting more fit, is able to walk longer distances and has even tried running/jogging (he thought he spotted a squirrel).
This dude is super into his stuffed critters! Latest additions to the critter crew include a pig with sprinkles on it, an alligator and even a skunk. McGraw will greet me at the door with his latest “catch”. McGraw used to be a hunting dog and my theory is he doesn’t tear up his critters because he was trained not to tear up the birds/deer he would retrieve. McGraw is a fantastic retriever and will retrieve anything and play fetch. His new favorite game is going around the kitchen island and playing keep away with one of his critters. He loves playing and being with people! Instead of a “people person”, he is a “people dog”.
McGraw is now down to 108 pounds! He is fighting fit and doing such a fantastic job! When he had his initial wellness check at the vet he was 117 pounds. The vet said he tested negative for heartworm and McGraw is totally up to date on his vaccinations. Also he does have some arthritis in his hips and his knees, but the weight loss should help with improving his mobility. On another visit to the vet he did have his teeth cleaned. McGraw was a very cool critter at the vet and incredibly well behaved. The vet said overall that McGraw is a very healthy boy and just needs to lose weight.
His new nickname is “Mellow McGraw” because when we go out to the pet store everyone says, “He is so mellow and sweet!” McGraw even ran into another Golden at the store and was very polite and friendly.
McGraw has been an absolute joy to foster and is a total teddy bear. I know he would be an awesome addition to the right family.

Meet McGraw! Also know as Curly McGraw, Quick Draw McGraw, McNugget, Honeybun, Baby dog, and Sweetheart. McGraw’s owner passed away and a Good Samaritan found him and turned him over to RAGOM. This handsome and brave pup is 10 years young and is always smiling.
Curly McGraw is an incredibly sweet and gentle Golden Retriever and a true Velcro dog. He follows me from room to room, and will greet me at the front door with one of his many stuffed critter toys. McGraw isn’t a “squeaker seeker” but will nuzzle his toys and carry them around. He sleeps on a queen sized bed that is now officially “his bed” and will hang out on his doggy bed while I eat meals. He loves attention and needs his snuggles!
Right now McGraw is a big boy at 113 and is currently on the green bean diet and lots of short walks and play time. He has lost 4 pounds. Go McGraw! Turns out this dude LOVES snow and will jump around in it and try to eat it. He adores his walks and “patrolling the neighborhood and getting his sniffs in”.
McGraw has the most curly and fluffy golden fur ever! He loves to get petted and scratched behind his ears. We’ve gone to Petco and he was such a mellow and well behaved boy. This awesome dog would make a wonderful addition to the right home.
