McKenna 06-100

Profile

3/19/06: Meet sweet and petite McKenna. We picked up McKenna yesterday and are just starting to learn about this little girl. We think she may be between 8 months-1 year in age. She was a stray so we know little about her background. Unfortunately, she was also unspayed and has come into heat. We have noticed she is preferring me to my husband so may have little or no positive experience with males. My husband will begin feeding and caring for McKenna so she learns "guys" are friends too! McKenna is housetrained and slept quietly in the crate last night. We have a vet visit tomorrow and will update her bio after our visit.

Hi Hi Hi Kenna here,

Wow… what a couple of weeks I’ve had. My new family is great and I think I’m in doggie heaven. It’s been four weeks since I was adopted and it’s so nice to get settled in. I have my own couch, crate, fenced in back yard and I get tons of love’in.

I want to take a minute to thank everyone that took so good care of me before I was adopted. Ms. McKenna, Kay, Dave and the gang, you’re the best! Thanks Again.

We started obedience classes and boy what a first night. I met another Golden, one shitsu (oh…I hope mom didn’t hear me say that) and 3 other dogs. I made sure everyone knew I was there. Mom sat on the sidelines and laughed, dad didn’t. Mom and Dad said I do great at home with training but when I am there, all I want to do is visit (the teacher was not very happy).

Mom is planning on sending Kay info on all natural food for her kids. My dinners are Solid Gold Hunden Flocken, canned peas and carrots, organic chicken broth, olive oil, spinach and SG canned food. My it sure is good. My mom knows some people at the HS that feeds their dogs all natural stuff. She is going to print out some info for Kay and Dave. It’s great info and hopefully it might help other kids too… My ears are doing great, I chew my feet on occasion, but mom is trying different stuff to see what works. She got me some all natural shampoo that has aloe vera (whatever that is), my coat is gorgeous, absolutely gorgeous (everyone says) and soft. Maybe natural stuff would help your kids. Moms friend says a healthy immune system is a major factor in everyone’s life. Please take a look at the stuff she’ll send you and I hope it helps you or someone else that can use the info.

I have live toys. Their names are Penny (she’s not nice), Rado (he is fun), and Sheba-Grandma (she’s elderly). Mom calls them cats. What’s a cat? Mom had a foster kitten named Linus and I tried to get to know him but mom wouldn’t let me in his room.

This weekend is our first trip going up north to the cabin. I can’t wait, they tell me about this boat ride to get there. What’s a boat? Dad said the lake water will be to cold to go swimming. What’s swimming? Mom is sewing my seat cover for my weekend travels; she wants to make sure I travel in comfort and keep the truck seat clean.

Check out the photos of my new fence. It’s great. I run like a mad women, but they won’t leave me out there alone. I run up and down the stairs and through the flowers (which I guess I’m not suppose to do). The lawn makes my paws turn green. Isn’t that cool?

I guess mom made my appointment to get me spayed on May 16th, not sure what that is all about but dad says the Doc gives good treats.

Oh, gotta go. Dad’s ready for me to take him on his walk.

Love and Doggie Kisses.
