Merry Christmas! In Memory of Corky!

In addition to LOVE this dog has the following requirements:Date PostedFenceKid FriendlyAnother DogCat Friendly 10/15/2016 Required; no tie-outYes  OptionalAfraid of cats This is the most recent information available; however, it may change as we learn more about the dog.

Meet Molly!!!!!

This beautiful and very sweet girl is from North Dakota. You would never know she is 11 1/2. She moves like a much younger dog. She is playful, prances gracefully, and loves her walks. Molly was an outdoor dog her entire life, but we think all the fresh air on her farm did her good. She loves being inside, came right in, and after about five days of being here, she has had only one accident. It was after she came home from the groomer and she may have been a little upset by that. She was very well cared for her entire life and had a warm place to sleep when it rained or when the weather turned cold. She came to us with her favorite ball and loves to play fetch!

Molly saw the vet today, and they found she had a very mild ear infection that she is being treated for. She also has a bad tooth that will be taken care of in November. She has mild arthritis in her right hip. She is up to date on all her shots. She was spayed.

She is friendly to dogs, male and female of all sizes, but she is afraid of cats. She does a little zig zag while on the leash as that is new to her, but as the days pass, she gets much better. She only pulls if she sees a squirrel. She listens to commands, and stays and sits nicely. She lays at our feet and sleeps next to our bed. She hasn't yet tried the orthopedic bed we got for her. Not sure she realizes how comfy it would be.

Molly does not like to ride in the car as her only prior experience with cars was to visit the vet. We are working with her on this as she shakes like a leaf. She needs help up into the car, but jumps out easily. We also learned last night that she is afraid of the fire pit. We had a nice small fire last night on the patio and she ran inside. We won't build any more fires while she is here. She was also a little afraid of the leaf blower and vacuum cleaner. We don't know yet if she has storm anxiety.

Molly would do well at a home with a nice-sized yard with a fence as she is used to roaming the farm. She loves to sniff and sniff. Another favorite thing for her is to watch airplanes.

Molly has the Golden nudge down as she is not letting me type up her web page. :) She doesn't want you to stop petting her.

She will make an appearance at Chuck and Don's when the next event is scheduled!

We will keep you updated as soon as we know when her tooth will be taken care of next month.

Please consider opening your home to this loving and playful senior girl so she can live her twilight years surrounded by love. Molly is a wonderful dog.

Updates

Tuesday, December 29, 2020

To our great sadness, we must report that Molly, our 15 year old precious, spunky, goofy golden girl, crossed the rainbow bridge on September 3, 2020. We were absolutely heartbroken to let her go.

In 2015, our 10-year-old golden retriever Hana passed away. Her passing left such a void in our life that we finally decided to start looking for a puppy. Approximately one year later, we found the adoption section of the RAGOM website.

Much to our surprise, rather than a puppy, Molly's kind 11-year-old face immediately captured our hearts. We decided that adopting a senior dog presented a wonderful opportunity, as many never leave their loving foster homes.

Molly came to live in her forever home on December 3, 2016. She was timid and shy when she first arrived, but it wasn't long before she became best friends with our daughter's service dog, Obie.

When Obie was at home, Molly was his shadow. When he wasn't, she would wait patiently by the door for his return.

Molly loved doing everything with our family! Even though car rides weren't her favorite, she'd put up with them in order to do things with her family, such as go to the cabin, a fishing trip in the boat, dog park visits, and even going to the vet.

She was everyone's friend and her sweet face got her many pets from visitors. She even nudged your hand if you stopped petting her too soon, such a diva!

We miss Molly every. single. day. She may have been a senior dog, but she was always willing to learn new things. If Obie did it, she would try her best to follow in his footsteps.

She loved taking walks, her multitude of stuffed animals, stretching her long legs while running around the yard, and snuggling with Obie. We are better people for having Molly in our lives. Thank you for giving us that opportunity!

Molly came to live with us a little over a week ago.  She is the perfect addition to our family!  She is gentle, loving, and has an easy going personality.  We feel so thankful to be part of her life.  Molly enjoys her walks and has the 'golden nudge' down perfectly.  She loves to carry her toys and stuffed animals everywhere she goes, including outside.  She often moves them around the house, one at a time, until they're all in the same area, then does it all over again.

We lost our 10 year old golden girl a year ago in January and our lives just haven't been the same.  We were specifically interested in a senior golden because our daughter has a service dog that goes everywhere with her.  We wanted the new member of our family to be content to stay home and take a nap if everyone was gone for a few hours.  It's worked out perfectly!  Thank you to RAGOM, fosters Mary & Tom, and Molly's original owners for giving us this opportunity.  Our lives feel complete again and for that we are grateful!

Sincerely,

Joel, Melissa & Samantha

Thank you so much, Greg and Nancy, for sponsoring Molly. She thanks you (and we do, too) from the bottom of her heart!!!!!

Molly continues to do really well and has an abundance of love. Not sure if you have noticed from her photos, but she smiles all the time!

She will go in for her dental procedure this Monday. We will update you on the results.

Other than that, she continues to be a perfect Golden girl. She loves her buddy Griffin!

Hello, Molly Fans!

She is Grrrreat! She is stealing the hearts of all the people she meets on her walks. If we would describe Molly, we would say she is smart, fit, sweet, and oh-so loving.

She is doing great on the leash and she has motivated our resident Golden that is her age to pick up his pace.

She is loving the fall and playing in the leaves. She even has what we call her "crazy dog" moves in the backyard around the trees. Too fun.

We are hoping to bring her to Chuck & Don's in Edina as soon as they schedule the next event.

Please consider this senior girl. She is something!

Molly is doing GREAT! She is a very active 11.5-year-old girl. She is walking so well on a leash. Molly has been getting a lot of love attention on her walks around Lake Harriet as she likes to great all dogs and people. She can make the nearly 3 miles with no problem and comes home with energy to spare!

All of Molly's routine senior blood tests came back perfect this week! She has been scheduled for some dental work on November 21st, but she is ready to meet her forever family.

Molly has finally tried the orthopedic dog beds - yay! But if you let her, she does like to cuddle in bed. :) She used to follow us everywhere in the house, but she has settled down considerably and feels comfortable napping in a room away from us.

We are still working on car rides. She doesn't shake nearly as much and will try to get as close to you from the back of the car as possible. We don't crate her in the car, but maybe that would be something to consider to calm her.

Her appetite is great, and she takes treats very gently after she sits. She is smart and listens well. Her coat has already gotten a little scruffy since her bath last week, but we are thinking that since she was a outdoor dog, her fur has adapted to the weather. It's very cute. Even though we brush her, it goes back to its natural look. :)

Please consider this sweetheart. She will love you up!
