RAGOM, on December 13, 1998, went to Iowa and rescued 12 golden retrievers, ages 1.5 to 4, from a filthy backyard puppy mill. They were matted, filthy and terrified. Most of these dogs have"come out of their shells," so to speak, but there are still many concerns regarding their timid behavior, becoming accustomed to houses, carpet, stairs, etc., as well as health concerns. One might have bone density problems due to being over-bred. Charlie is blind.  Ear infections are common, some have lice and skin problems. All need to be spayed/neutered, vaccinated, and much more!
