Morgan 05-156

Profile

5/26/05: Morgan has been with us for 24 hours. His family surrendered him on Tuesday and we got him on Wednesday. He survived meeting my Golden, a foster Yellow Lab and 2 cats....he had never been around cats before and is doing very well with them. He also met our daughter who moved home from college. It was busy with people running in and out. He does not like his kennel and it was a challenge to get him in it for the night. Once there he slept all night like a baby. Today he spent the work day in the bathroom and all was intact upon getting home. Morgan has mouthing issues which will be a challenge that we will take one day at a time. He is eating out of my hand in the evening, but shows no interest in a.m. feeding. Tonight we will try letting him sleep in the kitchen and if all goes well, tomorrow night we will bring him into the bedroom. He has shown no aggressive behavior in regard to food, treats or toys and has played nicely with the girls. I'll update after the long relaxing weekend. The other foster dog goes back tomorrow and we will see how that changes the dynamics around here.

Hi, It's me "Eddie", aka Morgan:) Hey, my human brothers here in the picture with me decided I looked like an Eddie. Gotta tell ya, life is AWESOME. I go for rides, go to baseball games to watch my human brothers play ball, and according to my Mom, I watch the game, my eyes never leaving the ball. I am a perfect gentlemen, tho some of the "girls" can be pretty aggressive. I love my new house and fenced in back yard....I can run, fetch, do my tricks and be with my new forever family. Apparently I am what Mom calls "entertaining"......does that mean she has to pay "enterainment tax"? I am feeling very loved and secure and minding my manners. Just wanted to thank RAGOM for giving me a foster home to deal with my issues so that I could end up in such a wonderful, loving and caring home. I hope you other humans out there will know it's one of the greatest things you can do, adopt a RAGOM dog.......we have so much love to give!! I think I must have the Best Mom & Brothers:)

Love, Eddie

Hi, Morgan here. Thought I'd quick check in...send a couple pics....the full body shot will have a few females out there wishing for the face, long leggy look and that hair...what can I say? Anyway, you can check me out and my friends, Reba (gma) and Sam (the cat).

So ok, I have a some mouthing issues...I confess. I don't like people grabbing my collar, approaching me with their hands from the front, by my face, not keen on belly rubs and I will "shake" but other than that, don't mess with the feet! But the good news is I am learning that if I let my fosters lead me by my collar and I don't drop to the ground, roll over and mouth them and give them my nasty look, I get food rewards. They are also showing me that if I sit and let them snap on the leash I get to go outside and go for a walk or on a 50' tie out to play ball. I have an ear infection and need drops 2 times a day and that wasn't going well until they discovered that if mom fed me a little nibble food, dad could squirt that stuff in pretty fast.

Life has been a bit better since that foster alpha female Lab went back to the Humane Society. Boy she was scary, chasing me all over the house and deck, jumping up and down, wanting the toys, etc. Gma Reba and I get along just fine, hang out, chase balls, eat without problems and we both like the cats. I'd never seen or been around cats before, but hey, they're cool. Well, ok when I have a rawhide bone I don't want anyone bothering me.

Have been on a lot of rides, checked out the neighbor kids, met a couple new dogs...which weren't all friendly I might add. Went to a pet store. Whoa, you outghtta see the stuff there! I was a good boy so got a big old Booda toy. Boy, can I swing and tug with that thing. I have been a good boy and so sleep in the bedroom with the rest of the family. They keep the door shut....like I would want to wander around a dark and strange house at night! I have had no accidents in the house as I bark and get frisky to let them know it's time to go out...like, now!! I don't like moist dog food, go figure, but do go for the Iams doggy treats. I'm friendly and love being petted and having my ears scritched.....and being praised for being a good boy.

I have had fun here and everyone's been nice, but I'm ready for a forever home with someone to love me and have the patience to help me work through my mouthing issues. I am young and full of energy, but when in the house I am a good guy.....well, except for when I picked up that sock and grabbed some Kleenex outta the waste bin....but hey, I don't chew stuff up. They found out I do chew up squeaky toys so I have hard toys to chew on. I don't jump up or get on the furniture...but then I have never been invited up either, so who knows :) Anyway, if you think we could be a family and work things out, I'll be here waiting. Morgan
