Mo has been adopted!! This story is amazing. The "L" family lives in WI and had adopted their previous Golden's from GRROW (the WI Golden Retriever rescue). They have been reading RAGOM's site for awhile, since the ND puppy mill rescue! They recently lost their beloved fur babies and knew their house was too empty without a dog! So, they started reading... and Mo was the one they felt was meant to be theirs. They sent an email to RAGOM... Mo had already met a family and the process had begun for him to be adopted. The L's were crushed. All they could think of to say was they were happy for Mo.... but if something doesn't work out and he becomes available again to let them know. Well, their wish came true. On the night that we found out Mo's family, at the time, didn't think things were a match we were devastated... for him. Then, we got an email about the L's :) It all seemed to be happening for a reason. Mo met Mike and Linda on Friday night (they drove 5 hours one way just to meet him!) It was love at first sight all around! Mo ran to them, and happily curled up in Linda's lap and was giving kisses. They knew that what they had thought about Mo being theirs, was true. This was their dog. There wasn't a dry eye in the house. Mo went home with the "L" family yesterday and first reports say that he is doing great. We sure miss him around here, but know that every dog has that perfect family and now Mo is with his. It took him longer than we would want for him to find that special place.... seeing such a young and wonderful dog get bounced around is truly heart wrenching. However, Mo is a trooper, he took it all in stride and never did it wipe the happy smile off his face. He must have known the L's were out there waiting for him all along. We are so happy for all of you. Be a good boy sweet Mosey! We love you so much and are so happy that you finally have your chance to be HOME!

Mo, the cutest puppy ever, is back home tonight after his neuter surgery yesterday. He is doing great :) Too great... keeping Mo and Gracie from their favorite things in the whole wide world, is tough! Their favorite things in the whole wide world are: PLAY, wrestle, tackle, run, run, run, PLAY! So, we are doing our best. He came through surgery just fine, and has another few days of some pain meds, and has activity restriction for a week or so. Someone forgot to tell him that!
Mo is a fantastic puppy! He has not chewed on a single inappropriate thing while he has been back here. He has had up to 1-1/2 hours with free roam of the upstairs. Doors were shut, and nothing was on the floor, but... still he was perfect. He also sleeps on our bedroom floor at night and doesn't touch a thing. He easily could. He doesn't even ruin dog toys! He hasn't had an accident, so I would say he is completely house trained. Mo is also learning manners. He is a very, very smart boy. He is also very sweet. He is such a cuddle bug when he is sleepy. It is the best. He gets in nice and close and gives kisses :) Such a cutie!!
I can't say a single bad word about Moses. He is a baby, and does need training, and he has puppy energy... but those things aren't negative. Those are things that come with having a puppy! Teaching a puppy new things can be one of the most wonderful and rewarding experiences. Obedience training is a great way to increase and strengthen the bond with your dog, and it is so fun to have the pride that comes with having one of the stars in the class.... Mo will be that star!
We would LOVE to adopt Mo and make him a member of our family. We are so smitten with him and his happy-go-lucky personality, his adorable face, his willingness to please, his star quality, and his LOVE life attitude! However, what we would love and what is best for Mo are different. He has to compete with 3 resident dogs and our other foster Mr. Chips for attention here. We adore them all and try our very best to make sure each of them gets what they need, but Mo shouldn't have to share with so many others. Plus, we want to be able to keep helping RAGOM dogs by fostering, that is important to us as well. We are determined to find Moses the best there is for him no matter how long it takes. His next home will be forever, he deserves that so very much. If you are interested in Moses contact placementragom [dot] org, and we can chat. Thanks for reading about Mo!

Mo, one of our favorite fosters, is back. We are sad for Moses that things didn't work out for him... because we really thought it was a perfect match. Sometimes it just is not perfect. That is why RAGOM is so great!! Mo was welcomed back with open arms. We couldn't be happier to have this little guy back with us. Well, okay... Gracie is the happiest to have him back :) It was a very wonderful reunion. They have been running and playing ever since we walked in the door with Mo! Cute stuff!!
Moses was surrendered back to RAGOM for chewing. Mo is 7-1/2 months old, still VERY much a puppy and puppies love to chew. They will chew anything they can get their mouths on... some more than others. Mo is a chewer. Here is the good news about that.... Since he has been back here he hasn't chewed, or tried to chew anything inappropriate. I even left my sandals and a pillow on the floor (with me right there in the room) as temptation for him. I thought, it would give me the chance to correct him if he thought he might like my flip flops for his chew toy :) He didn't even give me the chance to correct him, good boy! More good news: Crating is a way to prevent puppies from causing any destruction when you cannot be home to watch them. We crated Mo last night when we had to leave for a few hours, he did great! I even put a blanket in the crate for him (again, another test) and it was perfectly intact when we returned. Good boy!! Last night, he slept in our room with the rest of the pack and did just fine. It took him awhile to settle in for the night but he eventually did and snoozed until the morning, next to our bed.
Mo needs obedience training. He is a quick study though... he is already learning nothing in life is free!! He must do something for us to get something from us. Sit for a pet, things like that. He is learning that jumping up on us does not get him any attention, at all. We just turn our backs and walk away. Jumping up isn't fun for dogs if they don't get a response out of us! So, he is learning. He does know sit, down, and comes when called. He is a very good boy, who has a good start. Mo is a baby though, and he MUST attend obedience class. He would be a star, no doubt. He is very smart, very sweet, and very eager to please! He needs to be given the opportunity to succeed in being the very best dog he can be!
Mo also needs to be neutered. We are taking care of that on Monday! (I haven't told Mo yet :) ) Other than needing to be neutered, he is perfectly healthy. He is at a perfect weight, his coat is shiny and soft. I am not sure what he weighs exactly... we will find out on Monday! I would guess 40 lbs or so? Because of Mo's missing leg it is necessary that he remain on the thin side, always. Mo gets around totally fine. He runs just as fast as the resident Golden girls! He runs up the stairs, he is a little slower going down but they aren't a problem at all. He can leap into my SUV (Gracie can't even do that! Oh Gracie :) ). His surrendering family did tell me that he can do a 2-mile walk without a problem, but a 3-mile is bit too much on him. With that said, exercise is going to be a must for him (it is for every dog) but he needs to expel some of that puppy energy. So, he needs daily walks. He does best at the pace of a fast walk or a jog so he can run instead of hop. He can do both.... it's just the running is easier on him for a long distance. He also just loves to play with other dogs. Another dog that would play with him would be a huge bonus! This also helps tremendously with burning off the puppy energy :)
Mo has one of the most wonderful personalities I have ever seen. We saw this in him as a younger boy, but the great thing is... it hasn't changed a bit! He is SO HAPPY, all the time. He smiles, and goes with the flow. He gets along with all creatures great and small. He loves all people, is great with kids. Mo will be an amazing companion and friend to a very, very, VERY special family.
So, welcome back Mosey Mo! We are happy to have you, we promise we will find you the forever home you so greatly deserve.

Moses is doing GREAT! He is doing really well with potty training and has not had a single accident in 3 days :) YAY!! He is learning to go and wait by the back door when he has to go potty, what a good boy! He has the best personality... he is always Happy :) and is is always making us laugh! He also is a bit of a trouble maker and will keep you on your toes.. and forces me to keep my house very clean.. with the floors always picked up! Which is a good thing! He gets along GREAT with all of the dogs in the house ( 2 resident GR's and resident yorkie AND foster GR Venus!) He listens when the older dogs tell him they are not interested in playing with him. But, he is just happy as can be that Gracie our RAGOM girl will play with him. (I am happy as can be too!) They play like crazy, then nap, and repeat! That is pretty much how the days go around here :) I have been asked how Mo gets around, and "how can it be that only having 3 legs doesn't give him any problems?" Well, Mo gets around just fine! When he walks he bunny hops, and when he runs... you cannot tell he is missing a leg! It is amazing :) He just flies along! He loses his balance every one in awhile and will fall down, but he pops right back up! He can't really jump onto the couch yet... but will learn. He goes up and down stairs like a pro. Going down he centers his front leg on the step and heads down. He wrestles, plays, fetches a ball, and goes for walks (and loves them!). He really isn't any different than any other puppy! He has a unique gait, that is about it! He will never be any ones jogging partner, but he will be someones life long companion and best friend! He could teach us humans a thing or two about what it means to live in the moment, to take what we are given and run with it! To live each day with a smile on our face and not worry about the little things that we cannot change. All Mo knows is how to love, and how to make us smile! We are so thankful that we were given the opportunity to foster such a special little boy! (Thank you!! RAGOM!) He is one that we would adopt in a minute, if we could, but we cannot because we want to be able to help more dogs in need by fostering. He is something very, very special! If you are interested in meeting Mo email : placementragom [dot] org OR... come to PetSmart in Plymouth on Saturday! We will be there from 11- 1pm (maybe later!) Look for the puppy with the long line... I know Mo will have a huge fan club :-) We are looking forward to meeting some of you. Thanks for reading! More pictures and updates to come this weekend!

Mo (the cutest puppy ever!!!) has been here 24 hours now and he is such a charmer! He has blown us away with his amazing spirit, his happy-go- lucky golden personality, and THAT FACE!! Moses is quickly learning the rules of the house and only has had a couple of accidents.. they were the fault of foster mom and dad... we are a little rusty in the potty training area :) He slept with us in bed last night and didn't make a peep all night long.. and slept for a full 8 hours! YAY Mo! We were very, very happy with that. Today he came with foster mom and dad to a meeting and met some other dogs, and lots of people! He had a blast. He loves to play and has a ton of energy! But, then after a good hard play session he sleeps just as hard, or is happy to snuggle with you... if someone wants to snuggle with a cute puppy... there were many takers!! :) Moses is learning what is OK and what is not OK to chew and redirects really easily. He also eats his food really well, and is learning to sit and take treats nicely. He is a very smart boy and will be very easy to train. Obedience classes will be a must for him to teach him to be the best golden he can be! Mo had us really laughing today... Every time we let him in from outside he sits down right inside the door (we give him a treat for going potty outside.) Every time he sits right away and his tail goes into the water dish, which is right next to the door :) Then I take give him his treat, take his tail out of the water dish, and he runs away... all excited wagging his tail! Water is flying all over :-) It is really funny! Mo is your typical golden retriever puppy! He deserves the very best! He is the brightest little star, he has a golden smile that goes for miles, he will love you forever, and be your devoted friend for life! What more could you ask for! If you are interested in meeting this special little guy email : placementragom [dot] org. I would love to talk to you, and find out if you are that SPECIAL family that is waiting out there just for him.
