Nala here,
FD thought I should do this update to tell all the recent happenings and my side of my story.
To start from the beginning of my Ragom days, I was surrendered by my previous owner in central Iowa. Then I was transported to a temp foster in the Twin Cities. That night I started going into heat because I wasn't spayed. Everyone really fussed over me a bunch and stayed up all night with me. Come to find out, they thought I was going to have puppies. I was very nervous and whined and cried a bunch and had swelled up very much. I am a bit overweight and had puppies before so things really did look like I was pregnant. The next morning it was off to the vet to get x-rays to see if I really was pregnant. My buddy Hemmy, that I lived with, wasn't neutered yet so it really was a possibility. No puppies in me. I did enjoy all the attention I got but really was miserable being in heat.
Later the second day I went to boarding and lucky Hemmy got taken by Foster Dad. A foster was found for me but I needed to get spayed before I went there. I had spay surgery by the great people at Mnsnap and then FD picked me up to temp foster me while I recovered. I got to be back with my buddy Hemmy, another foster dog, Murphy, FD's resident Ziggy and Itsey the house cat. I was pretty miserable the day after surgery. The aches and still being in heat was really taking its toll on me.
The next day FD loaded all us dogs up in the Suburban and took me to my new foster. I was ok on the ride but became agitated and kind of crazy once we got there. FD thought I would settle down after he left. I didn't settle down at all and clearly wasn't happy at all with all that had happened. My new FM and FD were up all night trying to get me to calm down but nothing worked. I just wasn't happy at all. FD and the pack of dogs came and got me later that day. I was much happier with less people and more dogs at the time.
I'm very sorry for giving the new FM and FD such a bad time. They didn't deserve that at all. I really wasn't my true self for a few days. Just way too much to adjust to in a short time.
After a few days back with FD, the other foster dog Murphy was adopted. I acted a little crazy and demanding when Murphy's new family came to visit and when they came to take him home with them. FD wasn't impressed with my behavior, but I still was in heat.
A few days later I finally started going out of heat and my true self started coming back. My buddy Hemmy went to Mnsnap to get neutered and I was alone in the house for a while and was just fine. I really don't need other dogs around any more. FD was very glad to see that.

FD has been feeding me good food and walking me twice a day. I am getting back in shape and can go 3 1/2 miles or more at a time. I am walking 5 miles or more per day most days. Hemmy is a bit slower at gaining strength and stamina so we don't go as far as I could at this point. Ziggy can do circles around both of us. She barely pants after 3 1/2 miles. I can't wait for the day I can show her up. Itsey the house cat walked over 2 miles with us dogs the other day and put me to shame. Who ever heard of a cat walking with dogs anyhow??

Something must be going on today. FD was up very early. He fed us and walked Hemmy and I. Ziggy was too sleepy yet to go with. FD left for a hour or so then started loading some of our stuff in the Suburban. I was very excited and did my best to get in the way. Ziggy ran out the door and waited by the truck. FD had to call her a few times before she came back in the house. Then FD took me and Hemmy out and got us loaded up.

We ended up at Chuck and Don's pet food store in Blaine for a RAGOM Meet and Greet event!! FD was worried that I would become a real handful but I proved him wrong. I was very good after being just a little excited at first. Tons of people came and petted me and told me what a pretty girl I am. Lots of other RAGOM dogs there also. FD said that there was at least 1 family that came there just to meet me and Hemmy. Hopefully I charmed them more than Mr. calm Hemmy did. Maybe they would adopt both of us?

FD was very impressed with my behavior and rewarded us when we got home with a special supper. A short nap and I was ready to go walking. Another 2 miles and then pooped out for the night.

FD says he is thinking about taking Hemmy, me and Ziggy next weekend to be in a parade in St. Louis Park. I'm up for it. I'll have to do my best to convince FD to take us.
On another note, I have started playing with a select few of the toys here. FD has played fetch a few times outside but I lose interest after 4 or 5 tosses.
