Hi everybody,
Hard to believe it's already Odie's third adoptiversary. He is the joy of the house; a hit with everybody. We love him so much.
Thanks always,

It’s been a week since we lost our beloved Odie to cancer (13-429). We know it’s time to let RAGOM know, but we’ve been dreading having to write this message.
Odie was our sweet, handsome boy and we loved him so much. He had a tumor on his heart that snatched him away from us and didn’t even give us a chance to fight. We would have done anything for him, but all we could do was let him go so he didn’t suffer.
Odie was 9 and we had seen that he was slowing down. And his legs, that had always given him problems, were giving him more trouble than before. We took him to the vet numerous times in the past few months to make sure that we were doing all that we could for him.
As he was slowing down, we were very mindful to treasure the time we had left with him. Nevertheless, we were still hoping for more years, and having him taken from us now so suddenly has been a cruel blow.
Odie was a gentle giant that loved everybody and was loved by everybody. Odie brought so much joy to our family. He leaves a huge hole in our hearts, in our home, and in the neighborhood.
His foster family, Kate and Ben H., also loved Odie tremendously and cared for him many times over the years. We are enormously grateful to Kate and Ben for taking such good care of him and for choosing us.
We are so grateful that we got to be Odie's forever family. He was our treasure and always will be.
With warmest regards,
Julie and Kim
We’re happy to celebrate Odie’s 6th adoptiversary. We still have daily discussions about what a treasure he is, how cute he is, etc. We are forever grateful.

It’s Odie’s 5th adoptiversary and our hearts are full to bursting. We love him so much.

Hi everybody,
Here we are celebrating Odie's second adoptiversary already. This is at his favorite place in the world - the Minnehaha Falls dog park.
He is our dream dog and we love him so.
Thanks always,
Julie and Kim
Hi everybody,
Here is a picture we took of Odie and our boys in celebration of Odie's one year adoptiversary. We love him so much!

Hi guys, Odin here!
I found my forever family! Boy, did I hit the jackpot, they are the BEST!!! Here’s a picture of me relaxing with a freshly de-stuffed toy in my new place.
Thanks to everyone that followed my page! I’m off to go hang out with my new best friends!
Hope everyone had a wonderful Easter!
Odin is back on the market! His potential adopters had something come up and were unfortunately unable to take him, so he is again looking for that special someone! He has just been hanging out recovering from his surgery. His recovery has gone well for the most part, although he did have a little hiccough a couple of weeks ago. His knee cap slid back out of alignment, so he had to have another small procedure to put it back where it needed to be. He is doing wonderfully now, and is feeling much better! He is getting a little frustrated that he still can’t run and play with his foster sister, but that will come in time. Meanwhile, he has been loving laying out on the deck enjoying this beautiful weather we have had the last few days!

First things first, Odin has himself another sponsor! Thanks SO much, and huge, sloppy Odin kisses to Marianne for that!
Odin’s surgery was yesterday, 3/17. He is home and doing well! His dislocated knee cap is all fixed and he has a beautiful, stylish purple bandage on it. I told him we are going to have to buy him an eye patch and a parrot, since it makes him look a little bit like a peg-legged pirate when he walks around!
He was a little woozy when we got him home last night, and his pain medicine makes him very sleepy. That is maybe a good thing though, because this morning when he woke up, I think most of his meds had worn off and he was raring to go! Too bad he isn’t allowed to do much of anything for the next few weeks! I see lots of stuffed frozen Kongs in his future to keep him busy! At least it is getting nice outside, so maybe he can have some lounge time on the deck with us.
Foster Dad made him his very own little nest in the living room with his bed and some couch pillows, so he will be recovering in the lap of luxury until his goes to his NEW HOME! Yes, that’s right, you may have noticed that his page says he is pending- Odin has found his very own forever home! His new family will be on a trip through April, so because he won’t really be up to travelling, he will be hanging out with us till they get back. We are glad we get to have just a little more time with this special guy!
Hi everyone, Odin here!
I have been thoroughly enjoying all the nice warm(ish) weather! Foster Mom says I must love the water, since I had to make sure I plowed through every puddle we saw on our walk the other day. When we got home though, Foster Mom said I was dirty and kinda stinky, and if I wanted to lay on her couch I had to have a bath.
I needed a bath anyway though, because my first surgery is set up for this coming Monday, the 17th! Can’t go to the doctor dirty!
I am excited to get my leg fixed, because I will feel SO much better after I am all healed! Getting better is going to be kind of a drag, no playing, no walks, Foster Mom and Dad will even have to help me get around for a little while. But on the bright side, that also means we will have LOTS of extra cuddle time! That is NEVER a bad thing in my book!
Foster Mom will be sure to update you all on how I am doing after the surgery! Wish me luck!!!
Hi everyone!
Odin had his orthopedic appointment this Monday, and we finally have some answers on his legs. It turns out he has an ACL tear in his left leg, and a dislocated knee cap in his right. Poor boy! We are in the process of setting up his first surgery. He is looking at a long road to recovery after both procedures, but the prognosis is good for dogs that have these surgeries! He should be good as new after he is all healed! The vet sent him home with some pain meds to get him through until the surgery, as she said he has probably been very uncomfortable. You would never know it to look at him though! He is as happy as ever! He has even been walking further and further with us every night without too much limping.
He had a wonderful day hanging out with the volunteer that took him to that appointment! He was so tired by the time he got home that night that he fell asleep on the couch snuggling with his foster sister Lucy, and we couldn’t even get him off the couch to come to bed with us! That’s the picture I’ve included, this was right after I asked if they wanted to go outside. Neither of them look too enthusiastic!
Doesn’t he have the most adorable sleepy face? He could barely keep his eyes open!
Odin also had a follow up visit with the regular vet last week for his ear infection, and we found out it has not cleared up yet. He is on one more week of meds for this, and then hopefully it will be gone. The vet said his head is so big, and his ear canals are so long that it will take a little extra treatment time to get it taken care of.
The good news is that he has already lost five pounds, so only five more to go!
Hi guys, Odin here! Hope all of you are staying warm! No real news for me, just waiting for my orthopedic appointment on the 3rd to find out what’s going on with my legs. All the exercise I’ve been getting between daily walks and playing with my foster sister has me feeling a little better. Last weekend was kind of a drag, as Foster Mom was sick all weekend. We had to stay in the house and keep her warm on the couch. That was mostly OK with me, I will take all the snuggles I can get J My Foster Sister and I were driving Foster Mom so nuts by Sunday afternoon that she finally had to get up and take us for a walk. It was (kind of) nice out, so she decided to take us for a walk by the lake, but by the time she realized how far we had gone, we were halfway around the lake and had to go the rest of the way around to get home. By the time we got home we had gone four and a half miles! And the really exciting part was that I wasn’t even limping around after that! My leg was bugging me a little the next morning, but by the time Foster Mom got home from work, I was right as rain and ready to play!
I love all the walks we go on! I really like walking in the woods, and wish I could chase all those ducks and deer that we see. Even with my Gentle Leader on, I took Foster Mom for a little ski on the icy trail when I heard all the ducks quacking on the creek. She didn’t fall, but she still wasn’t too amused! She can’t really argue with my 92 pounds when I want to go see something!
The walks get a little few and far between when it gets really cold out. We tried it yesterday, but with the cold wind we didn’t make it very far. I walked almost the whole way leaning my head against Foster Mom’s leg… my ears were cold! So we went to the pet store instead and got some new toys. I am a pro at de-stuffing toys, but I haven’t chewed anything else at my foster home. I am a perfect gentleman when Foster Mom leaves me out and about in the house in the morning when she leaves for work. I have decided that the hour from when she leaves and Foster Dad gets up can’t be wasted in my kennel, so I found out that if I just sit down in the hallway and look at Foster Mom like the little innocent angel I am, she will leave me out until Foster Dad gets up. (It helps that I weigh almost as much as she does, and she can’t move me!) For him, I go into my kennel with no fuss.
I have to go to the vet tomorrow night to have my ears checked out to make sure my ear infection is gone, and then again on Monday the 3rd to check out my legs… I have a feeling I am going to be pretty fed up with doctor visits by then! Hopefully I will be all figured out then and ready to go to my forever home!
Hi guys, Odin here! Wow, last week was a really busy one! Getting all settled in with my foster family, and playing with my crazy foster sister. Then I had to have a bath, but that was ok. I needed some convincing to get in the tub, but then it was kind of nice to sit in the warm water and get undivided attention from Foster Mom. Then I went to the vet, and to the RAGOM meet and greet on Sunday. It was a lot of fun, but I was sure tired when we got home Sunday! Foster Dad even had to give me a boost to get on the couch, ‘cause my legs were hurting a little. But that’s ok, I took a little (or not so little) nap on Foster Dad’s lap, and when I woke up, they were pretty much good as new!
I checked out almost perfectly at the vet! I am a little heavy at 92 pounds, the vet says I need to lose 10. Foster Mom tried to feed me a carrot when we got home, ‘cause the vet said that would be a good alternative to regular treats, but she’s crazy. Carrots are not good. I made sure to make mine nice and gooey, and then I spit it out in Foster Mom’s lap. That will teach her to withhold the Milkbones! The vet didn’t know exactly what was wrong with my legs. I have to go in to get Xrays tonight, and those will be forwarded to an orthopedic surgeon to find out what the issue is. I also had a double ear infection, but it wasn’t a bad one, and the vet said it was probably because of all the stress I’ve been under. Foster Mom has to clean out all the yucky stuff from them every day and put drops in. I like the extra ear massage!
Other than those issues, the vet says I am a very healthy boy!
Now a confession. I scared the be-jeebers out of Foster Mom last night! I went out with my Foster Sister Lucy into the back yard at the Foster Grandparents house, (which is completely surrounded by an 8 foot fence!) and we ran around the corner where Foster Mom couldn’t see us. She whistled for us, but I didn’t come back! I decided to explore under the trailer parked back there, but couldn’t figure out how to get out! I wasn’t stuck exactly, just didn’t know the best way out. I decided to wait until everyone was out there with flashlights before I started to whine, and then Foster Sister Lucy came to save the day. She crawled under there with me, and I followed her right out. I got lots of relieved hugs and kisses from everyone after that. Maybe I should hide more often!
Well guys, gotta go, keep your fingers crossed that we find out good news about my legs!
