Well, Ole and Molly have been with me for about two weeks now and are just the most wonderful puppies ever! Ole is definitely the more dependent of the two and doesn't really like being alone. He is quite a bit larger than Molly, growing into more of a male-stature dog physically, but he's still just a baby inside. I call him My Little Swedish Boy because I just love his name. Sometimes when he and Molly are playing, he ends up crying and looking over at me. I can just imagine him thinking "Mommy, help me. Molly is hurting me!" Ole is very social. He just loves everyone! He likes to be held and has always been very gentle when chewing on humans. And when he curls up next to me on the couch, he makes this little grunting sound as he falls asleep. Precious!
Both Molly and Ole are now completely paper trained, so we're starting to work on outdoor potty training. He's a very smart boy. I'm sure he'll catch on to the potty training very quickly. He's already very predictable. Whenever he wakes up, I immediately let him outside because I know he will need to potty right away. His bladder is still pretty small so he goes potty frequently, but I'm sure he'll be able to hold it longer over time.
I think Ole would be great in a home with children and/or another dog. I'm sure he would even do well with a cat. He absolutely loves playing with my resident Golden, Daisy, so I'd like to see him go to a home that can provide him with lots of active play time.
He does pretty well in his crate, though he's never actually been locked in one. The puppies have their own blocked-off corner of my basement so they have their paper potty area outside the crate, their eating area in the corner, and their sleeping and playing area is inside the crate (with the door open). This seems to work great for them. And it works great for me because their toys and blankets never end up in their potty or their food. They are very clean puppies! Ole is pretty vocal, though, when he's ready to get out of his pen. When they wake up in the morning, or after a nap, Ole does the yelping and jumping and I think Molly just sits in the crate and lets him do all the work of alerting me to come down and let them out.
