On Wednesday, March 3, Olivia was seen by a neurologist and given a diagnosis of a non-treatable brain disease. Her foster family had noticed behavioral issues that correlated to her diagnosis. It was most certainly not what they wanted to hear, but gave them answers to her condition.
It was recommended that she be humanely euthanized.
We have struggled since Wednesday knowing that the hardest decision to be made, has to be made. Knowing that time was short, we put together a tiny, safe for Olivia, Bucket list.
That included a car ride to Chuck and Don’s where she picked out a sloth toy, a dog-safe, beer-shaped cookie, a girl has to have a beer after all, a Dairy Queen pup cup, a cheese burger, a visit from some kind and wonderful friends, and attendance at her foster sister's Golden Birthday party that involved cake. Sooo much cake.
On the morning of Saturday March 6th, Olivia was treated to a breakfast of birthday cake, blueberry pancakes, kibble, and canned dog food. After breakfast and 2 hours of playtime, her foster family brought her to Pet Crossings Animal Hospital where they were allowed to be with her, hold her and pet her in her final moments.
It was very peaceful, and loving as she joined many other Goldens who had gone before her as she made her journey over the Rainbow Bridge. May you run free, sweet girl.
Her foster family would like to extend their gratitude to the RAGOM village who helped support them during this difficult time. To our RAGOM supporters, we extend a thank you as well, for continuing to show support to RAGOM which allows us to take in medical needs dogs and give them the care they need.

Olivia came to RAGOM from a commercial breeding facility. It was obvious that she needed medical attention for a potential Neurological issue. Her fosters took her in and made her one of the family.
She is a silly goofy girl who has stolen the hearts of those who have met her. She loves to play with her toys when she finds them and give them good puppy shakes. She can also be very affectionate to the resident dogs in the home, going up and giving them kisses.
It was noticed that she has some visual impairments, however responds to light and encouragement. When you call her name she comes running over. Well, more like wobbling as she does not walk a straight line. She is awaiting her results from a Neurological exam.
Until then she is living the happy Golden life she deserves. She is well loved and cared for as any pup deserves.
