Ollie arrived in Minnetonka from Decorah, Iowa yesterday. He is older than the other fosters I've had, and has made me a fan of the senior set. The shelter owner thought he was five, but I think he may be a little older. He has an appointment at the vet this week and we'll know more about his health, which appears pretty good despite his obvious lack of nutrition in recent months.

Ollie was a stray, who recently lived in isolation in a police department holding kennel for about a month. Then he went to a rescue shelter for a couple of weeks. He slept great in a crate last night... no whining or barking. Today he was gated in the kitchen while we were out. I left some treats on the counter as a test, and they were still there when we got back!  I think he'll be trustworthy in a short time, but has marked in the house twice. The shelter owner said he kept his kennel clean, so we'll see. He knows how to sit and does very well on a leash. We spent a couple of hours grooming yesterday, clipping mats, bathing, cleaning ears. He LOVED every minute of it. More after his vet appointment.
