Parker 12-423

Parker 12-423 is a 5 year old male Golden Retriever who came to us this weekend along with his mother, Brandy 12-424. His family has fallen on some financial difficulties and surrendered this beautiful pair to RAGOM. Parker is not neutered and not up to date with any vetting. He will see the vet on Friday. Parker is a very sweet and devoted boy. He is by Brandy's side all of the time. He will go outside and wait for her to come out the door before he leaves the steps and does not let her out of his sight. He does not like the crate at all and does just fine confined to the laundry room at night. He does not like the gentle leader but we will keep working on this as he does not walk well on a leash. He has had one accident in the house and tends to be a counter surfer. He hasn't taken anything off the counter, just checking to see what is up there. This is not difficult for him because he can rest his chin on the counter and table. He is one big dude! The SO claimed that he does not get along with other dogs but we have not had any trouble with him and the two resident cockers. I will update more after his vet appointment on Friday.

Updates

Hi, everyone. Parker here. FM is very busy working full-time and going to school full-time, so while she should be doing homework right now, I will give a little update. FM says that I am such a good boy! Anyone would be very lucky to have me as a companion. I love to lay my head in your lap and get a scratch behind the ears. I love to lay on your feet and keep them warm while you are doing homework and I love to de-stuff my ducks that FM bought for me. FM says I have to share them, but I like to try and get them all in my mouth so the resident Cocker can't have any of them. I do give them up when FM steps in, though.

I am such an easy-going guy. I don't bark, I do not try and run away, and I just want to be where my people are. If you are looking for an excellent companion, do not look any farther. I have lived with my mother all of my life, so it might be best if I had another dog as a companion. If you are looking for an all-around nice guy.....get in touch with your placement adviser and set a meeting with me. I have added a couple of new pictures for you to enjoy. I am napping with the resident Cocker, Lucy (she doesn't like any other dogs except me). I am playing in the backyard with mom, Brandy, and I am just enjoying the day outside.

Good Afternoon,

Just thought I would update on Parker with some new pictures. He is in love with his stuffed animals but does not feel the need to de-stuff them like some of the resident dogs do. He just likes to carry them around in his mouth. He also loves it when FM and FD go for the coffee maker because that means a treat for them.

Treat time

Parker is ready for his forever home. He would be happy in a home that has another dog. He has never been without Brandy. Other than that, he is happy going for walks, playing with his toys, and is just as happy laying by your feet while you are working on the computer or watching TV. He likes to be where his people are. He gets along with everyone he meets and I have only heard him bark a couple of times since he has been here and that is only because the resident loudmouth instigated it. He is housebroken. We let him have roam of the house at night while we are sleeping but confine him to the laundry room during the day while we are at work. He has good manners and listens very well.
