Pepper 13-099

Pepper 13-099 came from an animal shelter in Oklahoma. Pepper is an approximately one-year-old, Golden Retriever/Mix female, up to date on vaccinations and has been spayed. Pepper was surrendered to the shelter by her owner with the reason listed as unwanted. I can’t imagine why anyone wouldn’t want this sweet little girl. Pepper is a happy, happy, busy little girl!! She is a petite 40 pounds, and she has boundless energy. She runs and plays outside with our resident dogs and could chase and wrestle all day long. She is respectful of the older dogs and reads their cues when they need their space. She is very affectionate, loves hugs and is happy to all who come to the door.

Pepper is house trained and we give her freedom in the house while we are gone. All is okay when we return home. No guarding of toys or food. She takes treats from your hand. She knows sit and come (unless there is a squirrel in the area). With that being said, Pepper is very fast. When she runs, there is no stopping her. She will definitely need a physical fence. When she sees a squirrel or a low flying bird, that is her only focus and she will run and run and run in hopes that she can catch them. If she could climb the tree, she would. Pepper does need training. When she is excited, she will jump up on people. We are working on the jumping. Children need to be 7 or older, as in her excitement, she may knock a toddler down. We do know that Pepper does not like cats. She will chase them. Pepper is a very smart dog. When you throw the retrieving stick, she does retrieve it back to you. Anyone interested in agility training, this dog would be great. She is good with other dogs and should be with another young dog. She has a lot of energy and would play constantly if our resident dogs would comply. Pepper is a very, very sweet girl and would be a wonderful addition to any family.
