Dear Ragom,
I am so happy to send along this happy endings update on our rescued/adopted pups. Although we don't appear to participate in Ragom much - we are not at the picnics or adoption events - we watch your site regularly and tell our friends about your work. I find over time that more and more people know of you, and even have a new colleague who has a Ragom dog so we trade stories. I made a year end gift in honor of Peyton and Packer on the 31st (on-line), and I am glad to share this update so you know their status.
In February of 2006 we adopted Peyton and Packer, 10.5 and 10 year old seniors born of the same parents in successive litters and living together all of their lives. After a very happy year together we lost Packer to cancer despite all the best efforts of the U vet team, but Peyton is still with us and living the good life. He doesn't hear very well and struggles with stairs, but every time we head for the door he encourages me to take him for a walk. Our yard has a large border hedge and Peyton has found two spots with branches he can use to scratch his own back, and that's where we find him every day. Although he no longer has Packer for company, Peyton has resident Blondie and two cats to keep him company - he's a happy 13 year-old boy now! I am attaching a picture of him on our bed with resident Blondie. Thank you for all you do.
