Polly is a petite Golden mix that was found as a stray in Bismark, ND. She was being held at a local shelter and when her time was up, they contacted RAGOM to find her a forever home. She is about 31 lbs with short legs, the cutest little feet, floppy ears (one up, one down), and a beautiful coat of ruby and brown.
After signing up to temp foster Polly for 4 days until her permanent foster was available on Easter Sunday, I headed to meet her transport at a local truck stop. She hopped in my van after a quick walk around the parking lot with a constantly wagging tail. I could not believe how small she was!
She walked into our house and lives like she had always been there, meeting and greeting everyone like they were old friends. She especially loved a 96-year-old uncle visiting for the weekend and it made us wonder if Polly's previous owner was an elderly man.
Polly has a beautiful spirit, fun personality, and is a "go with the flow" type girl, except for one thing and that's the camera. She hates it and will go and hide when she even sees me holding it. Fortunately, my daughter has a big zoom lens and we were able to get a few pictures.
By Saturday afternoon, we couldn't imagine our lives without Polly. Our granddaughters were going home to pray if we could keep her and she had my husband wrapped around her paw. It's hard to explain how these things happen, but Polly was home and I think she knew it before we did. After emailing RAGOM to see if there was such a thing as Temporary Foster Failure, we got the green light to proceed with making her a member of our family.
We have Happy Hearts with one more dog finding a Forever Home but realize that Dog Rescue never ends. Please check out the wonderful available dogs on ragom.org or local shelters and rescue organizations.
