Poncho is three years old and has been raised with children as young as three.  His owner gave him up because they felt he needed more room to run.  He's only been an outside dog, so we will work on potty training, walking without pulling me down the road and learning proper golden etiquette.  He LOVES to ride in the car and prefers to have you pet him the entire time.  My husband and I took turns sitting in the back seat with him to make him feel more comfortable.  Poncho gets along well with our golden; he's sniffed our cats and doesn't give an indication he will chase them.  However, he's only been on the tether so time will tell.  He's adjusting to his gentle leader, although he does occasionally paw at it.  He does know sit and come, not sure about stay yet, but needs a few manners.  He's already lifted his leg with success tonight.
