Hi Everybody,

I'm poppin in to say "Hi"  I've been here a couple weeks.  Maybe you've already read about my beautiful babies, Buster 09-200, Jamie 09-201, Sandy 09-202, Sunny 09-203.  Not much of a family resemblance, but they are definitely my puppies. I'm so happy my family is RAGOM. I just want to say thank you to the nice transport lady for bringing us all down here.

Now that I know my babies are ok, maybe I should tell you a little about me.  My foster parents call me Poppi.  I like that name and respond to it readily.  I'm about 46 lbs of pure love.  I was a stray and found a family who named me Popcorn because that's what they were eating when they found me.  I'm really glad it wasn't Thanksgiving.  Maybe they would have named me Turkey or something else really silly.  Then I had my babies and they couldn't keep all of us so here we are.

I've been to the vet and have to wait for another week or 2 so I can be spayed.  When I first got here I was depressed and upset because I didn't know where my babies went.  My FM & FD wanted to keep me for themselves but made the decision not to adopt me because I don't play with their dog, Meg.  That's the funny thing about me.  I like cats better than dogs.  Go figure on that one.  MiMi and I are buddies.  We play hide and seek.  I just ignore dogs.  Meg really needs another dog so I'm available now for adoption.

A couple days ago foster mom found some itchies and a owie on my neck.  They think maybe allergies.  I'm thinking it's a hotspot.  We're going to get it checked out.  All other stuff for me is negative.  My teeth have some tartar, but after my spay, I'm good to go.

Here are my preferences for my forever home:
#1- A cat
#2 - Only dog so I can have your absolute attention
#3 - Fenced Yard (I like to wander around a lot)
#4 - I'm ok with kids of all ages
#5 - A chair or couch by a window so I can watch the world
#6 - A deck outside so I can catch some sunshine or shade

So, there ya have it.  Gotta go, foster mom is watching a movie and needs me.

See ya

Hey Everyone,

I am Home.  Sure, there was a couple little unfortunate incidents with those pesky rabbits, but my new mom says I'm a keeper.  I have her wrapped around my paws.   I get her up at 5:30 and take her for a walk.  I don't pull on the leash anymore.  And she adores me.  And I think Mollly likes me, too.  I get special bits of cooked liver and hamburger.  And I don't even have to be good for that, cause it just happens naturally.  She's constantly telling me how cute and special I am and such a good girl.  Here's a pic of my very special mom and my beautiful yard.

Thank you everyone for your interest in me and have a "golden" summer.  I know I will.......................Poppi

Hi,
We want to share these photos of Poppi and the reunion with one of her puppies, Sunny 09-203.  Poppi and I hitched a ride with Casey and his foster mom to the Fury Motors event yesterday.  Thanks, Lou.
It was cold and rainy, but we were surrounded with goldens and good times. If you ever get the chance to watch a mom and her puppy get re-acquainted after being apart for a month, you will love it.

Popcorn (on the right) crashed when we got home after telling Meg all about her big day in St. Paul.

Today nobody wanted to play outside so I had some volunteers with the laundry.  Thanks, MiMi and Poppi.  You are a big help!

Hey,
Poppi here popping in to catch ya up to date.  It's been a fun week.  I've settled in and I'm getting my figure back.  Yipppeee!

My owies are all cleared up and I don't itch anymore.

So, if you compare last week to now, what a difference.  3 more days of pills and then I'm getting spayed Tuesday, whatever that means.  Something about no more babies.  I'm okeedokee with that.

We've been going on lots of walks, but I like to lead most of the time.  Meg hangs back but I like it up front.  That gentle leader works better for her than me but I'm getting the hang of it.

Meg's friend, Murphy (the Silver Bullet) came over for a couple days.  We played tag and keep away and were so tired it was hard getting up the next day.

It was fun having him over but I really missed MiMi.  I guess when he comes over, MiMi has to go somewhere else.  My foster parents were so happy when they saw me playing with Meg and Murphy cause I only like to play with MiMi. I lived with a Pomeranian and that may be why I like to play with littler dogs and MiMi.  No wonder I don't play with the big boys & girls.  Except after all that fun, me and Meg played on the couch, too.  Then FM really cried.  I guess she was happy.

I was so glad to see MiMi come home last nite,  I tried to crawl in her transport crate.  We played hide n seek for a long time and laid down together to rest.  That crazy cat likes me to chase her under the bed and then she jumps up on it and grabs my tail.  Cats sure are funny, but I love them.

I was a little scared about this blue thing in the backyard.  I guess its traditional to take a picture of RAGOM dogs with this angel.  This means I will be adopted within 3-4 weeks.  Works everytime.

I guess that's all for now.  We're going for a walk.  Catch ya after my spay next week.

Hi,

Popcorn's FM letting you know that we had a little setback with her.  We have to wait at least another 2 weeks for her spay.  She has developed allergies, possibly to something outside.  She was itchy and very stressed upon arrival a couple weeks ago.  At the vet she was checked for fleas and other creepy crawlies and nothing was found.  Dr. suggested a low dose of Benedryl to settle her down and calm the scratching.  As she gotten more comfortable in our home, she's been stressing less and stopped panting and itching.  Friday I noticed a couple pimples and an abrasion on her chest and thought maybe she is allergic to her food, so decided to have a vet check after the holiday.  Meanwhile I applied an anti-itch spray and cream to the area and continued the Benedryl over the weekend.

I got her into the vet tonite. They shaved her chest and neck.  I was speechless when I saw her bare sking.  The pictures tell the story of how miserable she has been.  Our vet said this is fast acting.  Probably started last week.  I am so happy we caught it in the early stages so it should clear up fairly soon.  Ms. Poppi will be enjoying Oatmeal Spa treatments in the Backyard Oasis 2-3 times a week.  We will increase the Benedryl and start her on an antibiotic and continue to apply the spray.  We really don't know what her allergy is.  We'll let you know about her progress in a couple days.  Thanks for your interest in Poppi.
