Puppy Charlie 05-185

Profile

Charlie was surrendered to RAGOM by a vet clinic where he had been treated for broken toes. His owner did not pick him up, so the staff decided they had to find him a good home. Poor little guy has been in a crate with an E collar on for 3 weeks, so he is now making up for lost play time. Loves toys and running. Still does a lot of puppy mouthing. He is sweet and cuddly and loves to be on my lap. If you are ready to provide training, exercise, and lots of love, Charlie may be just the dog for you.

We regret to inform you all that we have lost our beloved Charlie due to a tumor that ruptured a few weeks ago. He was 15. We got Puppy Charlie from RAGOM in 2005. He was a very important part of our family and he helped us raise two children.

He was full of life and energy and love and chasing balls and swimming were his favorite activities.  He had a wonderful life with us….and us with him for the past 15 years. We won the dog lottery when we adopted Charlie….and he did too….

We wanted to thank all at RAGOM for making Charlie a part of our family. We have designated RAGOM to receive a donation every time we order on Amazon and we will continue this in honor of our Charlie Boy. Please pass on our thanks to Cindy J. for her help to adopt Charlie and his foster families Peggy and Elwyn and Diane K.

From Puppy Charlie's forever family...

We adopted "Puppy Charlie" in July of 2005. This photo was taken of Charlie in our backyard hosta garden.

Original Initial Bio:

Charlie is a 4 month old Golden Retriever mix bundle of energy! He came to us from a vet who has been treating him for broken toes. I don't know how it happened, but I guess the owner couldn't pay the bill so he left Charlie at the vet's office. The staff fell in love with him because he is so sweet and friendly, so they decided they had to find him a good home.

Poor little guy has been in a crate with an E collar on for 3 weeks, so he is now making up for lost play time. Loves toys and running. Still does a lot of puppy mouthing. He is sweet and cuddly and loves to be on my lap. He is a bit thin and has a very good appetite. We are feeding him several small meals a day.

I don't know what he is mixed with but he reminds me a lot of Scooby 03-053, who was a Collie/Golden mix. It could be that they seem alike because they were both about the same age when we had them here. Charlie has white on his paws and a little white star on the top of his head. His coat is definitely Golden - reddish gold and wavy with cute little feathering on his back legs.

We went to the lake this weekend but Charlie couldn't get his cast wet, so we had to stay away from the water. He ran around the yard with a baggie over his cast. He gets around great with the cast - it's like he doesn't even know it's there. He needs x-rays this week then maybe he can have it off.

He is very good about going potty as soon as he gets out the door. He has a few accidents in the house but we're trying to pay attention to what signals he's giving us so we can avoid those. He sleeps through the night in his crate with no accidents and will whine to get us up in the morning to take him outside. He rides well in the car and was great with all the other dogs at the lake.
