Admit it!  You love her already just because of her name! Miss Quigley is one of eight puppies rescued from a North Dakota puppy mill last weekend.  This little five pounder has managed to avoid the deadly virus, Parvo, that has infected several of her littermates.  She has no symptoms of the disease, and has made a smooth transition from her previous home in a cold, filthy out-building to the warm, clean home of her foster mom.

Despite being removed from her mother before being weaned, she is gaining weight and thriving with the care of RAGOM volunteers who are helping to feed and socialize her.  Once she is spayed and ready to be away from her brothers and sisters, she will be available for adoption.  If just saying her name makes you happy, imagine how you will feel snuggling this little fur ball in your arms?  Are you meant to be her forever family?  Can you help with the enormous costs associated with trying to give her siblings the same chance at the Golden life that this little cutie will have?

According to Quigley’s namesake, Kate Q., founder of the Chain of Hope Rescue in Kansas City, “At the end of the day, if we can change the life of even one dog, it matters.”

Hey everyone it's me Quigley.  I'm kind of busy right now so this is going to be quick.  My new family is on its way to pick me up so I'm packing my toys and grabbing some food and one of my blankets and heading out the door.  I have to say so long to Kitra, Rona, Hank and Artie.....I know I get to see them again as we are going to have play dates and a reunion at Goldzilla in September.  I'm excited to go to my new home as I am going to have a family all my own.

I have a mom, a dad, two human girls, one is 5 years old and one is 9 years old and a 2.5 year old mini Dachshund to play with.  I am so happy I get to have my own family and have another dog to play with.....even if she is smaller than me!!  Here's a photo of me with my new family when they picked me up at foster mom's house.  I'll send more photos and stuff later.

Talk to you all later, thanks to all my friends who helped take care of my and my brothers and sisters....RAGOM, you are the best, thanks for saving me!!  Puppy kisses from me to you!!

Your friend, Quigley (yes, I'm keeping my name!!)

Hello RAGOM folks,  it's me Quigley and guess what I'm sending my own update today.  I'm doing really well at my foster mom's house.....I weigh 14 pounds now, was 3.63 on the 23rd of January, so I've gained more than 10 pounds.  Artie and I are the same weight now...yes, I am one of the smaller pups but that does not stop me from playing hard with the rest of my siblings.  I love to wrestle the boys....take on Hank the tank all the time and me and Artie are best buds.  I also love Rona and Kitra and we all play really hard together.  I love the big dogs as well and really like Tanner....he's a Golden like us and I think he is my boy friend.  I like to pull his tail....he does not like that but I do it anyway cause I'm a puppy and well puppies do things like pull hair and bite cause we don't know any better and we think this is how to play.

I've been very busy meeting tons of new friends and guess what, yup, I found my forever family already!!  I will have a mom, dad, and two human sisters as well as a mini daschund to play with and learn from.  I am so excited to go to my new home.....I love my foster mom and my foster home as well as my brothers and sisters but I am ready for some one on one snuggling and attention.  My forever family already bought me a new collar and leash and are busy looking at obedience school for me as well.  Hum, not sure what I think of school as I've never been there before but foster mom tells me I am really smart so she says I will do very well.  Rocco told me he's been to school and that it is a lot of fun but you have to pay attention when you are there....guess I can do that.  Foster mom tells me that I will have to visit the doctor one more time....something about getting fixed and then I can go to my forever home late next week or next weekend.  Wow, go to go, it's lunch time and I don't want to miss out on any food......Kitra and Hank will eat it all if I don't get in there in time.

Catch you all later, Quigley.

Check out Quigley’s new pictures!  She is front and center.  She wants you to know she is the darling golden one.  She is having a great time with her siblings in the new room that FM set up for them.  It has lots of space to roam, pee pads for important business, and lots of toys!  Every day each of the puppies gets to spend some time alone with the big dogs in the house (shout out to foster brothers Tanner 10-331 and Rocco, and foster sister Jimmie).  It is fun!  She gets to do all sorts of sniffing, climbing, wrestling and tugging.  Quigley is doing her happy dance and sending her special brand of puppy love to her new sponsor, Mary!  Thank you Mary for caring about these exceptional puppies and helping them on the road to the Golden life!  Consider taking a cue from Mary and picking one of these pups to be your special friend.  You can donate at http://ragom.org/shop/featured/donate-93.html .

With a name like Quigley, I’ve got to be silly.  And now I have three more friends to be silly with!  I love you Anne, Trixie and Woody!  Maybe we can have a dog party sometime and hang out with my other friend, Meg!  Thanks for helping me get better so we can paint the town gold!
Yesterday FM took us to the vet.  You should have heard my brothers whine about the shots.  I’d have thought they were going through a major trauma --like getting their nails trimmed-- instead of getting a little poke to keep them safe from nasty diseases.   The good news is, we are all doing great, and getting ready for our forever homes.  Maybe my forever home could be with you?

Looking at this little sweetie and her sibs, it’s hard to believe last week at this time we were all in tears and thought we were going to lose her. Thanks to the awesome work at the U, and the wonderful RAGOM volunteers and supporters, she is eating, playing, and sleeping (did we mention eating?) just like she should be.  After struggling so long to gain wait, this girl now has a bottomless stomach! She is hungry!
While her crisis seems to be over, RAGOM currently has over 120 dogs in our care or waiting for foster families. The cost of giving Quigley and her siblings the medical attention they needed to survive was a huge chunk of the normal yearly operating expenses, and it’s only February! Please help RAGOM continue to take in these special dogs by giving a donation in any amount.  Visit http://ragom.org/shop/featured/donate-93.html  to make a difference.

Quigley remains in the ICU and, in addition to the issues directly related to the parvovirus, she is having a difficult time maintaining her blood pressure. She is receiving additional medications to help stabilize her.

These pics were taken just before she was admitted to the ICU. This sweet girl, who should be playing, and wrestling, exploring and learning, is instead in medical isolation. Can you help Miss Q? Please donate in her name at http://ragom.org/shop/featured/donate-93.html

Little Quigley held her own for so long as her siblings fell victim to the infection they acquired before coming into RAGOM’s care.  She was eating big-kid food and snuggling as you can see in her pictures.  This morning, she was lethargic and struggling, and her FM took her to the clinic for assessment and IV fluids and meds.  If she doesn’t improve significantly over the course of the day, she will join Elwood, Kitra, Rona and Pacelle in the ICU at the University of Minnesota.

So many have worked so hard to give this girl a chance for a future with her very own family.  The cost of care for this litter is expected to exceed $15,000.  Can you help?  Even the smallest donations make a difference…  Consider eating a PBJ instead of fast food for lunch, or drink the iffy break-room coffee instead of heading through the drive thru, and put the money you saved toward the care of these special puppies.  Donations are accepted online at http://ragom.org/shop/donat/donate-93.html
