Randy is a 10 month old golden doodle (golden & poodle cross) that came into RAGOM by way of a puppy mill. Randy came into our house 2 weeks ago afraid to go through the doorway or go up stairs. In that short time he has come out of his shell completely. Randy loves people and gets along well with other dogs. He really loves to run so a big fenced yard would be great for Randy.
There has been a lot of hype lately about golden doodles because they supposedly don't shed and don't bother people with allergies. Unfortunately Randy is not that miracle dog. He sheds just as much as any other golden retriever and he has affected friends with allergies. The golden doodle cross has produced many other wonderful features in Randy. He is very affectionate, smart, a great retriever and a good looker to boot.
Since he came from a puppy mill Randy wasn't in the best shape when he came to RAGOM. Randy is quite underweight (he's about 50 lbs now). He had eye and ear infections which have been successfully treated. To keep the ear infections from coming back, an adoptive family would have to be willing to clean his ears weekly.
