Red Shadow 07-419

Profile

This is Red Shadow 07-419, and he is RED! What a beautiful boy!! He is being fosterd in Aitkin, MN.  Shadow is 7 years old and came originally from a breeder, then he went to their local shelter. He arrived yesterday so I can tell you a little about him. He loves attention. And he loves tennis balls. And of course being a Golden he loves the water. History has it he is an escape artist. He has escaped 6 foot fences. He does not like to be contained in a crate, kennel, or fence.  So our first night together he spent tethered to our bed. And he did great. Not a peep out of him. So then what do I do about when I go to work? Well, I baby gated him in our mud room with Lewie (resident dog). And he honored that!! We went for a walk and he played with the ball, went swimming, before I went to work. I was too tired to go to work but he was also tired. I had relatives come and check on him during the day. I am working on crate training him so if I do have to put him in a crate, he will be a little more at ease with it. He gets along great with other dogs, male or female. And he does not have a problem with cats. He has a Vet appointment Wed to look at his teeth and get microchipped. He has done some damage to his teeth in trying to escape fences and kennels. He is neutered and UTD on shots. He has not had any accidents in our house so far.  I keep him on a long lead when we take him outside, and he doesn't seem to want to escape us at all. As a matter of fact he is a Velcro dog. He sticks by our side big time.  This guy just wants to be with people and have another dog to call his buddy. If you think you have room in your home for this handsome guy, just let RAGOM know. I will keep you updated on him as we get to know him better.
