Redd came to stay with Zoom after Peanut (aka Kristin 07-261) went to stay with Sam, Allie, Spirit and Sheba. The trade was in the best interest of the dogs. Redd is better with fewer dogs, and Peanut needs many dogs to help her become more secure.
Redd fit right into our house like he has been a part of the family for a long time. The first behavior we noticed is that he certainly loves people and any attention we can give him. He loves to sit or lie next to us when we are reading, eating, talking, sleeping, or watching television. In fact, he is always within a few feet of us. As I write this, he is lying about 18 inches from my chair and right next to Zoom.
Redd has a quiet demeanor; is affectionate, obedient, and loves to go on walks of any distance. He also loves to carry toys with him anytime and anywhere. He barks infrequently and usually when he has been unnoticed for awhile and wants us to know he is around. Over the past few says, we have noticed that he would do best in a home with no dogs or one dog, as we think is he is fonder of people than other canines. Yet, he shows no aggressiveness toward Zoom.
He does not appear to be an active play dog probably because of his age; however, Zoom enticed him to play chase on a warm afternoon and we think he enjoyed it immensely. After the chase, in and out of the ‘fort’, Redd decided that the spray from the garden hose was the perfect way to cool down. Maybe he has forgotten how much fun it is to play, but with Zoom around that may change. If you’re at Zoom’s house, you have to play!
Redd is a perfect gentlemen looking for a perfect family. He would love to be the center of attention and he will return any affection 1,000 percent over. He is well mannered, house trained, gentle and lovable. I almost forget to mention that Redd is also very good in the car.
