Reilly 07-554

Profile

I met Reilly for the first time today. Present owner brought her to Sioux Falls from Parker, SD so I could meet and do intake on this girl.

WOW, what a great girl! I knew she would be. Whoever meets her is going to be in love right off the bat. What a super personality and Reilly loves people. Not to mention she is a beauty!

Reilly is about 63#, red in color and just a nice sized golden…not big. She has curly hair and does need a good grooming/bath. She is just a lover girl…. When introduced to my pack, no problems on anyone’s part. She sure enjoyed meeting my pack, loved the backyard to sniff and check things out. She is somewhat nervous which is to be expected. Really wants to play/fetch, come up to me, put head on my lap… so friendly. Had a couple doggie toys outside and she did fetch and really seemed to like that. This is one lovely girl… inside and out. Her present owner is sad to see her go but is very happy and content having Reilly in RAGOM.

Reilly pants a little when in a car (took her to get microchipped) but I felt it is something she will get over just fine. This is a great girl who wants attention, and to be played with. Inside the house she is perfect (in the short time she was here). She will stay by you.

Reilly, when playing with a stuffed toy outside to fetch, will put her paw up and want more! What a girl. She does not know for sure about treats. I am going to assume cooked chicken, or something like that would be her preference (in also listening to surrendering owner about Reilly not taking hard dog treats).

This is one great Golden Girl for sure! So kind, pretty, loving, just all around great!

Ps: My foster girl, Recato/Katie REALLY likes her!! What a hoot.

Well, now that I've had Reilly for almost one week I can tell you a little more about her. She is EXTREMELY loving and cuddly. She is, however, very timid and I think will really do best with more of a low-key household than perhaps a house with noisy children. Reilly was a little slow to warm to my dogs, but is doing much better now that she has been here for awhile. She would prefer not to have to share my attention with anyone. If I were to describe Reilly's perfect family, it would be as an only dog with someone that had a large amount of time to spend loving and caring for her. She really is a sweet, loving soul. We went to the vet this week and everything went great. They tell me Reilly is in very good health for a dog of her age. I was, of course, excited to hear that. I am planning on bringing Reilly to the upcoming Woodbury PetCo event on Saturday, January 26. It would be great if you came out and met us there!!!!!!!

Help me welcome Reilly to the RAGOM family. Reilly previously resided in a nice home in South Dakota and is now being fostered in sunny Somerset, WI. She made a great arrival just earlier this evening and since has been glued tightly to her elephant toy. After a very eventful day of traveling, which I am told Reilly doesn't particularly like, I offered her a warm spot on my bed where she has been nestled tightly ever since. Reilly is an 8.5 years old gal who seems good natured and so far has seemed to mix fairly well with my two dogs. She is fairly timid and perhaps would do best in a home without a dominant type dog as I believe she will really come out of her shell and thrive. Though she has only been with me for a few hours, I have to exclaim that she is great! Whenever I get near her tail wags and she lights up just like my neighbor's yard at Christmas time. What a great gal, come on out and meet Reilly soon and help make her transition smooth and easy!!!
