Rhoda is a cute, sweet, petite, 6 year old Golden girl who tips the scales at around 50 lbs., but could stand to lose about 15. You would think the fact that she is always dancing with excitement that she would be in great physical shape! Miss Rhoda came to us from a shelter where she wasn't fairing well in the loud environment. She came into the dog rescue world as a stray who was found wandering the streets. As her background is unknown, we don't know that she is 100% Golden, but she sure acts like one!
Rhoda seems to have had some training. She knows sit and waits to be invited up on the bed. She doesn't jump on people but does a cute little imitation of a prairie dog by standing up on her back legs instead. Rhoda is a total Velcro dog and while she gets along with the other dogs here, she does get a little growly when they get in her way, especially of pets. Considering there are four dogs and one person, I think I might get a little growly if I wanted attention, too. I think Rhoda would do great as an only dog so that she can soak up all the attention of her person, but she would also enjoy another dog to play with. So, maybe play dates would be a good alternative for her.
She is spayed, has had her shots and is heart worm negative.
I can not think of one thing negative about Miss Rhoda. She has the best wiggle dance in the house and ALWAYS has a smile on her face. In her picture, she isn't groomed and looks like a teddy bear, so she has gotten the nickname of teddy dog, but don't worry, she doesn't answer to it.
She is for sure a dog that is ready for a home and will fit in with no problem. And, she is one girl who will be grateful for everything she gets. I feel very lucky to have the chance to live with her and hope to find a home for her that wants to appreciate her special spirit.
