Sweet Riley found her forever home today. She'll have her dad home with her all the time and her mom currently works from home. She'll have her own fenced yard to play in and, best of all, she'll have a new fur brother, Brody, to show her the ropes.
Have a wonderful rest of your life Ms. Riley!

Please welcome sweet Riley to the RAGOM family. Riley is a 5-year-old breeder girl who was surrendered to RAGOM when she could no longer have puppies.
Like many of our retired breeder girls, Riley is still learning how to live in a house as part of a family. She is scared of unexpected noises and quick movements, but we’ve had two loud thunderstorms since she has been with us and she was not bothered at all by them.
She relies on our two resident male dogs to show her the ropes of how her new Golden Life works. She will need a medium or large size, confident dog in her forever home.
We have her kennel set up in our bedroom, right next to one of our resident dogs, Sooner. At first, she was quite scared to go in but, with Sooner’s help and example, she quickly learned how to “kennel up,” which she does happily at mealtimes, for naps, and to sleep at night. Here is a link to a video we made of suppertime about a week after she came to live with us.
Riley loves, loves, loves attention from any human she meets. Humans obviously treated her nicely in her past life. She will happily receive pets and scritchies until your arm feels like it is ready to fall off! She has no fear of people whatsoever. We are working with her to make her understand that it is unacceptable to sit in your lap and lick your nose. We’re making progress but it isn’t a done deal yet!
Riley is very eager to learn. She can “kennel up” and we’re working on “sit,” as well as how to walk nicely on a leash (she does pretty well). Right now, we’re taking her for two ½-mile walks and one 1-mile walk each day. We’ll be increasing the distance in the upcoming weeks.
Riley has not had a single potty accident since she has been with us. She goes outside for “last call” at around 9:00 PM and she sleeps quietly in her kennel from her bedtime at midnight to 8:00 AM the next morning.
Because of Covid, we have not been able to get her into see our vet as yet. She is scheduled for a wellness check-up on September 10. We are estimating that her weight is about 55 pounds; she’s probably about 5 pounds overweight. We’ll know more and will fill you in after her first vet visit.
Riley is spayed and, if there are no problems found during her vet check-up, we think she will be ready to look for her forever home. Riley would love a fenced yard but she doesn’t need one if her family is committed to take her on regular walks for exercise. There is the possibility that she could accidently knock down a small child so we are restricting her to kids who are 10+ years old.
If you think that Riley might be just the girl that you are looking for, please review our adoption process and submit an Inquiry for Application. We’d love to talk to you about her.
