We're elated to share the excellent news that Bonnie has found her forever family! What a lucky girl she is -- her new family is looking forward to including her in their activities and were quite impressed with her very smart 'sit' and willingness to do almost anything for a treat.
Way to go Bonnie, we know you will be happy and well loved!

What's not to love about this holiday season? I can tell you that Bonnie is all about the special smells in the kitchen. She also wants to supervise the household decorating, checking out each item while we carefully put it someplace above dog height.
Bonnie has grown very comfortable sitting in front of the fireplace, cuddling, and enjoying special holiday dog treats. The snow doesn't bother her at all - she loves to gallop in the backyard and then come in, find a dog bed and take a long nap.
While she is still an energetic young dog, she has learned to trust that life is full of good things while she waits to find her forever family. If you love spending time with your dog, taking her for walks and training her and giving her treats and attention, then Bonnie could be just the right dog for you.
I know, she's not a Golden, not even a little bit - but she has boundless affection for her people and loves her dog playmates. She's a special girl and so easy to love!

We're so proud of Bonnie - she attended her first Meet and Greet this weekend and met a lot of wonderful people. Bonnie was pretty excited, there's no way to hide that, but she handled all the commotion pretty well.
She came home from that event and napped like there was no tomorrow, but within a short time she was back to running big circles in the yard and showing another one of our fosters how to play chase through the leaves. I think she had a great day. I'm guessing today might be a full day of watching football with foster dad. Not a bad life.
Bonnie is exuberant, affectionate and very smart. She learns quickly and wants to please and is slowly starting to exercise self-control. She is also full of surprises, like the kiss on my nose this morning to wake me up so I would feed her. Yep, she's a smart girl alright!

Lovely Miss Bonnie has shown us a new side these last few weeks. She's still energetic, but the work in getting her out to learn about new people and new places seems to have paid off. She is a bit more controlled now and has learned that doing a nice, quick sit can get you all sorts of good things, from treats to ear rubs to belly rubs.
For a while, Bonnie was doing acrobatic maneuvers at meal time, but she's learned that if she runs to her designated 'place' and sits smartly, she'll get her food more quickly. She's also now learning the full meaning of 'No' - and now will stop playing (roughhousing!) when we give her a firm 'No'. It took awhile for that to happen, but we've finally clicked and she's doing much better at taking direction.
At first, Bonnie was frightened to go in the car for rides without a dog buddy. Now she's loving the trips to the pet supply store, so car rides alone have become a very special thing. She loves loves loves to jump up on the bed in the morning and wait for us to wake up. She follows either foster dad or foster mom around the house at all times. You are never alone with Bonnie in the house!
She's a sweet girl, still very strong, but gaining self control. She will benefit from consistent positive training. She is such a fun spirited girl!

Bonnie has finally been successful in coaxing our older dogs into playing with her. She's been persistent and insistent and they finally just gave in. She's talked them into wrestling, sharing toys and short romps in the backyard. It took her awhile to win them over, but perhaps the biggest victory is that she's convinced our very timid retired breeder girl to play with her, too.
Bonnie has had a good week, and she's calming down a bit when it's time to eat. For awhile, she's been doing some elaborate jumps and twists, but now that is somewhat subdued and she realizes that she's not going to get her food until she sits. She sits very quickly now -- smart little girl!
We still think of Bonnie as a very energetic, almost athletic girl, but the good news is that she also has quiet moments where she wants to cuddle and be petted. The hair on her tummy is still growing back from her spay surgery and she absolutely loves to have a tummy rub. I think she would stay still for hours (well, really a few minutes) if tummy rubs were involved!
She loves to go for a ride, absolutely never turns down the opportunity to play in the backyard and hasn't met a toy she didn't love. She will benefit from consistent exercise, lots of positive reinforcement and exposure to more dogs and new things through a good obedience class.
She's a lovely girl with a glorious black, shiny coat and sparkling white teeth. She's a love!

Bonnie is really loving this transition to fall. The weather is nice and she really enjoys her time outside with foster mom and dad and our resident dogs. She's still as active and energetic as always. In fact, I realize now that she's not moderately active, she's very active. She's almost athletic!
Each time we feed her, she has a great routine to let us know how much she wants her food. The routine involves leaps and twirls and moves that just make you marvel. Another thing to share is that she's all about getting from point A to point B in the most direct fashion. If that means jumping over a sleeping dog, she'll do it. If she needs to jump over a standing dog, she'll do that too.
Bonnie is indeed energetic, but she can also be very calm and affectionate. She likes to climb up on the couch with us and snuggle and she is serious about following us around the house. She can leap up the stairs in record time and also enjoys a good nap in the sunshine once she settles in. She absolutely loves playing with our resident dogs and enjoys calm dogs who come to visit as well.
We've noticed that she gets a bit ramped up whenever we put a leash on her, so we're doing some special training to get her comfortable with the leash. She is a good shopper and enjoys going to our favorite pet supply store where she calmly takes treats after a bit of practice.
Bonnie is a sweet girl. I absolutely love it when I catch her watching me, trying to figure out what I'm doing and where I might be going next. She's inquisitive, smart and playful!

Bonnie is such a good girl! She's definitely settled into the routine here, and this morning enjoyed pancakes in addition to her regular kibble. She takes her treats -- even the very special pancakes -- very gently and gets praised for doing so.
When she first came to us she had a very ong handshake, but she's learned that we prefer a more gentle handshake, so she's softened her approach. She still likes to play hard and finds multiple opportunities in the day to run along the fence line with our younger dog -- sometimes barking at deer, sometimes just burning off some energy.
Bonnie is a typical young dog with lots of enthusiasm and interest in the day's activities. She's also a really good napper on a rainy day, and what's not to love about that?! Even if she's tired, she rarely turns down the opportunity to play bitey-face games with our youngest dog, rolling around on the floor.
I was out of town for a few days this last week and Bonnie welcomed me home as if I'd been gone for months. She followed me around the house very closely, supervised me as I unpacked my suitcase, and made sure I shared any snacks with her.
Even now, as I type this update, she's up in my office with me, taking a light nap and paying close attention to my every move. She's such an easy dog to love!

It's been a few weeks since we first met Bonnie and now that she's settled in, she's showing a lot more of her affectionate side -- she's perfected the soulful look and specializes in using that to get treats.
When Bonnie first arrived at our house, she'd been picked up as a stray and spent some time in an animal shelter. We believe that was pretty stressful for this young girl and that she's just now getting comfortable enough to show her true personality.
Bonnie is still playful, but she's also *very* sweet and affectionate. I think she's wishing we had some tennis balls to throw -- she lights up when I toss around the dryer balls when I'm doing the laundry. My guess is she would have a very fast retrieve. We'll let you know how that goes.
This weekend, we put away the kennel that Bonnie had been using -- she was doing good in the kennel and even went in there on her own accord for a good nap. But our house was a bit crowded with that huge kennel in place, so she's now graduated to a dog bed at the foot of the bed and she is loving it. She is still demonstrating very good house manners and we appreciate that.
Bonnie had her spay surgery this past week and was an excellent patient. She's on a quick path to recovery and isn't really interested in our attempts to keep her calm and quiet so she can mend. Nope, she would really like to play and do all the things that she was doing before surgery. A few days and she should be back to her old self.
Last night a very large storm passed through our area and lightening struck a tree just down the lane -- that was a bit too much for Bonnie and she quickly got up on the bed to find a safe spot and get some pets. She wasn't the only dog in the house who panicked -- two other dogs were vying for that safe spot, too.
An ideal home for Bonnie would allow her to get regular exercise -- she's young and just like virtually every young dog, she will benefit from some time with her people to exercise and play. She's a good candidate for obedience class; she's ready to learn and looks closely at you to understand what you want.
She's sweet and smart and a really good companion. Want a dog to follow you around the house? Bonnie's your girl. She's a true delight!

Bonnie is a delightful, energetic young girl. She was picked up as a stray and spent some time in a shelter until RAGOM took her in. Her coat is just lovely - it shines and is just glorious. Her teeth are bright white and the vet estimates she's possibly as young as 18 months or maybe somewhere around 2 years. She came into season as soon as she arrived at our house so we've booked an appointment for her to be spayed mid-September.
She's up-to-date on her shots and is in good health. This young girl can be very rambunctious and also can be a real slug. She enjoys games of chase with our resident dogs, running big circles and burning off a lot of her young dog energy. She likes to wrestle with our young dogs and never says no to the opportunity to play and explore in our fenced backyard.
When a foster dog joins our house, we typically kennel them at night and Bonnie wasn't happy about that initially, but adapted nicely by the second night. Now it's not unusual to find her napping in her kennel on her own, or sometimes surprising us by kenneling up on her own to get to bed early. She has a healthy appetite and takes treats very carefully.
She enjoys snuggling on the couch and likes to drape herself across your lap so you can pet her and then pet her some more. She learns very quickly and so far has learned that doing a smart sit in front of you typically gets her the attention she wants. She's house-trained and does not resource guard. She enjoys a good chew toy and easily keeps herself entertained.
We think that Bonnie would enjoy playing with older children, but she's very strong and rambunctious which might not be a good match for younger children. She enjoys going for rides in the car and somewhere in her past learned that jumping up on a bed is a great thing. She likes to nap on the couch and also likes to give a good warning bark to any deer passing our front yard.
Bonnie will benefit from daily exercise to burn off some of her young-dog energy. We love to see her enjoying herself roaming the backyard and enticing our resident dogs into playing with her. She quickly learned that our dogs enjoy cherry tomatoes, so now she waits patiently for her share as we all tour the garden together. Bonnie is at a great stage right now - she is a sponge, ready to learn how to please her people.
