WHO MISSES DAYTON'S SANTA BEARS???? If you do then you will LOVE Robin!

As many of you know Macy's purchased Dayton Hudson and along with the name went the annual, plush bear dressed in festive, holiday costumes. Meet Robin: a 2 year old, female, Golden Retriever mix, and a snuggle bug. She has plush, red curly hair, with a broad white chest, and 3 white feet (ahhhhhh, cute!) and she LOVES people. This makes her our favorite teddy bear.

Robin was originally a stray who thought she had found a permanent home but that family was put off by her tendency to lunge on her leash at small dogs and cats. The good news is with training and/or a Gentle Leader this issue should be solvable. She just has so much energy to go with all that love, maybe she was just misunderstood????

Robin is spayed, knows how to sit when asked, and has a jolly time playing with our resident 1 year old Golden, Rouser. As I type they are sharing a toy bone, taking a break from wrestling and running.

Robin is very housebroken and sleeps in her crate. She respects the baby gate and did I mention she LOVES people.

She needs a fenced yard and some training on her recall. She does try and squeeze under our gate so really wants to run and have fun!!

Our 5 year old Golden and Robin have not found their comfort zone with one another yet, but with patience we believe this will come around too.

Please continue to follow our Santa Bear story or better yet come and meet her! She would LOVE to meet you!!

Our Santa Bear has been with us for 3 days now. She still would rather be petted by us then anything else.

When she goes outside she does her business and hurries in and gives us a BIG hug when she returns.

We learned today from the person at the shelter she is the only shelter dog they have allowed to do a site visit at the local nursing home. What an honor for this special girl!

Today she went to the vet and got a clean bill of health! No ear infections, no fecal issues, no skin problems, just those soft, squishy red curls. The vet was also impressed by her VERY white teeth.

She did encounter 2 small dogs at the vet and although she was very excited to see them she was on a Gentle Leader and showed no signs of aggression. She even laid down with them around.

Robin and Rouser, our resident 1 year old Golden, still play like crazy! They share toys, bones, and us.

Things are getting better with our 4 year old Golden too. We are taking it slow but things are progressing.

Tomorrow we'll try and get some pictures of Robin, the Santa Bear, playing in the new snow. Stay tuned...
