Rory (Rowdy 11-213)

Profile

Rowdy's owners sadly surrendered him to RAGOM because they had their hands full with two very small children and wanted him to be in a home where he could get more attention. Rowdy is a healthy, athletic boy who has good manners. He can live with other dogs and can live with children. He loves people and has gone visiting to a nursing home. He loves walks, car rides, and cuddling. Rowdy is looking for a perfect home for the next chapter of his life.

Our sweet Rory passed away 02/07/2020 after a long battle with cancer and epilepsy. Rory was originally fostered by my family, but we loved him too much to let him go and we proudly took on the title of “foster failure”.

Rory was a vital part of our lives the past 9 years, and won over everyone who met him. Rory liked to eat everything he could get his paws on, and enjoyed swimming every chance he got. He was the most loyal, compassionate, and loving friend you could ask for.

He is sorely missed by the entire family, but his legacy will continue to live on in our hearts. Thank you, RAGOM, for leading Rory into our lives. We needed him just as much as he needed us.

With love and gratitude,

The H/McW family

Rowdy's Initial Update, posted June 25, 2011

Meet Rowdy!

Rowdy is a beautiful 4 1/2 year old PB Golden. He is tall, slender and athletic, weighing 65 pounds. He is house trained and respects baby gates. He goes in his kennel, but has some anxiety while we are gone as we find a puddle of drool and wet paws when we get home.

He loves car rides, walks and cuddling. He does not have storm anxiety and is a relaxed, easy going boy. He sits and waits for his food, although he is using every bit of willpower he has to do this. This boy loves his food!

He was loved very much in his previous home, but was not able to get the attention he needed because his mom and dad had their hands full with 2 kiddos under the age of 19 months. They were very sad to let him go, but knew they were doing the right thing.

Rowdy loves people! He has been to a nursing home meeting the residents and another visiting female Golden. He was well behaved and after a round of greeting new friends he retired to a favorite activity of his, lying under a table. Rowdy loves to be under tables and beds. He sleeps all night under our bed.

He loves long walks and is very obedient, walking right at your side when he hears the ‘heal’ command. He has met our 4 year old neighbor boy and was very neighborly towards him. He loves to carry balls but would rather play tug with them than to just give them up. He greets everyone with a short bark and a wagging tail. Rowdy is a well adjusted gorgeous red colored companion. He is a golden among Goldens.
