Rosco 09-067

Profile

Welcome to RAGOM Rosco :) This beautiful boy arrived at his temp foster home in Oakdale today! Rosco is about 70 lbs, seems to be a perfect weight for his frame, has a medium golden colored coat, with slight greying around the eyes and muzzle (cute!!). He came to us from a shelter and was found as a stray who was not claimed. During his time at the shelter they were able to track down some old vet records, so we do know that his name is Rosco, and that he is 7 1/2 years old (will be 8 in June). We know nothing else :( He is now up to date on vaccines thanks to the shelter, and tested negative for heartworm (yay!). He will be neutered and microchipped tomorrow, and then will be all set!

So far... Rosco has met the resident crew (3 GR , and a yorkie) with tail wags! I have learned he is very sweet, has a typical, loving, Golden personality :) He rode well in the car for the transporter on the way here, he was shaking a little bit when he first came into the house... I can imagine this is all very overwhelming for the poor boy. He has since settled in for a nap at my feet :) He is tethered to me for now, as he did lift his leg to mark the coffee table (did someone say neuter tomorrow?!) he responded immediately to my "No" and we went outside and he hasn't had an issue since. (Good boy!) But, we'll keep him nice and close for the night just in case he gets any other ideas :) He responds to the "sit" command and came when he was called back to me from the corner of our fenced in backyard. All in all, he seems to be a very nice older gentleman that will melt your heart and be your best buddy!

I will keep learning all I can about Rosco and report back in the days to come. Think good thoughts for him tomorrow for his surgery!

Rosco has been with us for about 1 month now, and it’s amazing how much more comfortable he has become with us.  At first he wasn’t sure if he could trust us, and he wouldn’t really let us pet his stomach.  Now he rolls on his back and ASKS for us to pet him on his stomach. He is such a Velcro boy; he loves to cuddle and would love to be petted 24/7.  When we are home, he follows us from room to room; he always wants to be around us.  When we get home after work, he is so excited to see us that he sits on his back paws and puts both of his front paws on us.

Rosco

My husband took him to the MN Pet Expo on March 7th he was at the RAGOM booth for 3 hrs. He did great and would even go up to strangers and give them his paw – that’s his move when he is asking you to pet him.  Everyone thought that was so cute!  He even let a few people pet his stomach.  He was a little nervous with children, but he did great with them too.

He is so cute in pictures, however the pictures don’t do him justice. You really have to meet him to realize how sweet he is. If you are interested in adopting this wonderful Golden, please contact a placement advisor.
