Good Afternoon,
Ruby Here...
Sorry I haven't written for awhile but I've been so busy. I spent two whole days at Doc's, I was a little bit worried they were going to keep me there. After they figured out that I can't be kenneled... I just don't like those things and Kelly the vet tech got her morning exercise trying to get me in the cage but then she realized I was such a gentle girl there was really no need for me to be confined, so they let me walk around the clinic, greet patients and lay around just like I was part of the family, I was so well behaved. Anywho, that was two whole days and the reason I was there was that I had a three pound tumor removed from my shoulder and a small cyst removed from my cheek. I've recuperated, had my stitches out and my staples out... I was the best and all of the Vet Techs call me all kinds of names. They call me Princess, Beautiful, Pretty Girl and then Doc calls me Old Lady, not sure why cause that name doesn't sound so great! Oh, the Tumor and cyst were not cancerous but there was a bit of bad news... I gained 2 pounds, a woman doesn't usually tell her weight or her age but I'm going to tell you, I weigh 85 pounds, my foster mom put me on a diet... ugh... I can't believe she is being so stingy with the food... really I'm just an elderly gal who likes to eat and sleep oh and get itchies... oops I got to go here comes my foster mom.
Greetings, I see Ruby took the reigns of starting this update but I'll fill in the blanks of things she missed. Ruby had a three pound tumor on her shoulder removed and a small water cyst removed from her cheek, neither were cancerous, however, she is a sausage in size... gained 2 pounds so yes, she is on a diet. You could say she is a member of the clean plate club and wants the other girls to be members as well. Ruby will gobble up her food head over to Molly's dish and lick that out just in case Molly left a morsel of kibble for her, then she will head over to Annie's dish and watch Annie eat. (Annie is a small eater and usually leaves some kibble for Ruby)... So then Ruby will help Annie out and clean up her plate.. yikes.
Ruby continues to be a charm, she finally barked, I actually had to look at her and watch her as I was saying, "was that really Ruby barking?"... she doesn't bark a lot or often but if the doorbell rings and the other girls start up she will join in.
I can hardly wait for the snow to melt and the ground to dry up to go out and play some ball with Ruby. She has a definite interest in playing fetch but she doesn't seem to want to release the ball. We've been practicing indoors, yesterday we were playing fetch and Ruby would get the ball, and bring it over and just wag her tail.. her foster brother was trying to get the ball away from her but she wasn't going to give it up so Conner (Foster Bro) had her face in his hands and was rubbing noses with her...He would quit and she would start initiating the nose rubbing, it was so funny to watch.. They continued to play that game for about thirty minutes.
