Charlotte joined our family yesterday and what a sweetheart she is!
She has lived her entire 3 years with one family. But they have had to relinquish her and a lab due to their child's allergies. This is one very nice dog. She's dark gold in color, medium sized although she could stand to lose a little weight (maybe 5 - 10 pounds). She walks very nicely on a leash.
She gets along great with our 4 resident goldens and doesn't pay much attention to the cat. She loves to fetch anything and often carries a toy around in her mouth. She is housebroken and shows no resource guarding.
She has been kept outdoors during the day and in a kennel at night. But we've given her free roam of the house and she's done just fine. She likes to be next to us but isn't overbearing.
Her surrendering owner said she has always been shy. We haven't noticed that but she does startle quite easily. She hasn't eaten anything but a few bites since she's been here. We'll give her some more time to get adjusted.
We haven't heard her bark yet. She's up to date on all her shots and has been getting heart worm preventative regularly. She has a vet appointment on 3/27 and will have a check-up and get microchipped.
More to come as we get to know Charlotte better. But what we do know is that she is a great golden who would do fine in any type of home.
