Rusty 10-131

Profile

On May 16, 2010 a absolutely wonderful boy called Rusty came into our home for foster care. Rusty is 9 years old. He had a long trip from Minnesota to here in Sioux Falls, South Dakota. Rusty is a perfect-sized golden who has the personality that anyone could possibly want. Has a muzzle with a small white blaze and the beginnings of senior frosted tips and highlights. Just beautiful. He is gentle, loving, sensitive and loves his human(s). We are very lucky to have this little guy in our home and just a darling guy.

Here is what we know to date:

  • Rusty came from a home where he grew up with a home who has 2 children for years
  • Rusty is neutered and current on all vaccinations and front-lined and groomed;
  • Rusty rides just great in a vehicle and very easy to travel with;
  • Totally housetrained and has free roam of the house
  • Is wonderful with the rest of the foster pack which consists of 3 dogs and 3 cats
  • Rusty loves to take a walk and he walks very nice and plenty of energy;
  • Loves his humans and wants to be by you as much as he can (lots of tail wags)
  • Gets along with cats;
  • Gets along great with other dogs
  • No anxieties; does not bark
  • Has a great golden wiggle

Rusty was recently surrendered by a family who no longer had time for him. He is a total delight to have. Rusty does play fetch, and is very active and fit for 9 years old (even vet concurred). Rusty likes to carry around a soft toy (does not chew up), a kong (with peanut butter is great); other hard rubber toys and nyla bones. He really enjoys playing in the back yard fetching a ball or toy, does not bring it back every time yet, but just loves to play.

Again, Rusty is in super good shape and is just beautiful. He has a white chest and a great golden/reddish coat with nice feathering. He did wonderful at the groomer (he does not like to be crated). He was a perfect gentleman at the vet and every one loves him. He is a total lover boy who really is a true companion dog. Rusty is a great family dog. Prior to coming to us in Ragom he was an only dog however, he really enjoys having other dogs around. He is totally fine with our cats. He is really enjoying our yard (fenced) with the crew and playing fetch. What a lovely boy indeed.

Our fantastic foster, Rusty, went 'home' today. A really wonderful family, the P family and real 'golden-lovers', drove 5 hours to meet our great foster. Rusty, in our meeting with this family, was a happy golden boy, showing kisses, tail wags and butt wags, and his small 'whimper-talks' for his new mom and dad as they sat on the floor with him. This family is truly wonderful and all of our hearts are very happy and thankful that such a great adoption happened today. This is what Ragom and rescue work is about. Rusty my boy, we are really going to miss you buddy and so loved having you for a foster.........you are in a wonderful place now, forever .... and I have once again, met a wonderful family who drove the distance and adopted a stunning golden retriever rescue dog.

Some new photos of our Rusty boy. One is with his pal Maggie (white) who is the same age. They both really enjoy their daily walks a lot and do very well. Rusty's coat just glistens in the sun and so pretty. He has a very full tail which is gorgeous.

Rusty is a wonderful foster and we are very lucky to share our home with him.... about the best you can get. He listens very well, takes treats nicely, does not bark (unless the other 3 decide to bark at something he may 'chime in' but when told quiet, he is). He has the cutest wiggle especially when you first get home from work or being gone for a little while and a little 'soft whine vocal' to let you know he is major happy you are home! He is so great with all of the other dogs and cats here. Such a well mannered, gentle golden boy. He really enjoys his rides in the vehicle, he lays right down.

Again, he is in super great health with no special needs whatsoever. He is great with kids also. Please email your placement advisor if you are interested in this lovely guy.
