Sadie 03-098

Profile

Sadie is a charming two year old girl, who is getting along wonderfully in her new foster home. She has made herself quite at home with her collie foster brothers' toys, and has made friends with her other foster dog sister and 3 cats. Sadie listens very well, both to her foster mom, and to the reigning animals in the house. She does think her collie foster brother has a very big bark, but she doesn't let that bother her, for that matter, it doesn't seem like much at all bothers her, she just takes everything in stride - kind of sits back and watches to see where she fits in. Sadie likes to play fetch, but her collie friend doesn't think she should be allowed to retrieve the ball. It's his, you know. Sadie also has learned to hunt - apparently she flushed her first bird at 5 months old. She's got two seasons of hunting under her young belt. Sadie appears extremely well-adjusted, is calm, yet playful, and is very winning in her gentle attempts to get you to play with whatever toy she currently has in her mouth! She is housebroken, spayed, and very well-mannered.

Sadie does have Addison's Disease, keeping good company with President Kennedy, who was also an Addisonian. Having Addison's Disease means that Sadie's adrenal glands don't function properly, which creates an imbalance of her sodium and potassium levels. Happily, Addison's Disease is entirely treatable with medication, in a similar fashion to controlling Diabetes. Sadie will need medication for life, and with this medication, she can live a totally normal doggie-life. The lucky family who adopts Sadie will be able to find a tremendous amount of information and support from a website and Addison's support group that several RAGOM volunteers are members of, and also local assistance from these volunteers who would be happy to answer any Addison's questions at any time.

Sadie is a very sweet, feminine, happy girl who wants nothing more than to be loved and cherished.

Hi RAGOM,

It's Jon Jenkins, owner of Sadie Jenkins. Sadie and I recently moved from Seattle to San Francisco where we took a job at Pinterest. I say we took a job at Pinterest because Sadie gets to go to work with me every day.

I adopted Sadie through RAGOM when her previous owner gave her up due to her Addison's Disease. Well, let me tell you, Addison's hasn't slowed her down one bit. During the last 9 years Sadie has climbed mountains, swam in oceans, commuted on city busses, ridden ski lifts and done just about everything else a dog could possibly do.

Now she's internet famous! This month she made her debut on the Pinterest web site. If you go to the Pinterest holiday web page and click on the tiny little Pinterest logo that comes floating down you'll see a video with Sadie as the star.
