Ms. Sadie gets the gold star award. She rides great in the car. She is at ease with greeting humans and dogs alike. Sadie fetches perfectly. She walks amazingly without pulling or sniffing and doesn’t even become distracted by pesty rabbits. Sadie is good with cats. Sadie understands dog signals and willingly gives up her ball to her foster dog siblings.

Sadie knows all the commands, sit, stay, down, shake, roll over and probably more. She is a great listener and responds well to instruction. She does not jump or bark. She is housetrained and well behaved at all times.

Miss Sadie loves belly rubs, snuggling and getting scratched behind her ears. Sadie enjoys being outside. In her past she spent weekends at the cabin swimming. Sadie would enjoy a family that has time to spend with her, providing her belly rubs, walks, lots of outdoor play time, rides in the car and maybe even some lake time. Sadie has found her furever family in Ely, MN. Her new family has promised her that she will never have to move again! She is loving the cool weather in Ely and has been playing non stop with her fur sister Hannah, going for walks and cuddle time while reading books with her new brother Ethan.

Sadie had a wonderful day today. She did two of her favorite things. Went for a long ride to Duluth (she loves going for rides) and played ball for a long time in Lake Superior while she interviewed her new family, including a fur sister. Stay tuned.......

Sadie is my little helper. No matter where I go, she is right behind me. She is also considering a modeling career. Below is a picture from her first photo shoot. I think she has a shot. What do you think?

Sadie continues to do well in her foster home. She has been to the vet for a wellness check and is healthy. She weighs 55 lbs.

She absolutely loves people and follows me wherever I go. She listens well when I call her. Playing ball is still her favorite game, and she will bring the ball to me and drop it and nudge it toward me until she has my attention to throw it for her. She is very fast and can beat her foster siblings to the ball. She loves to run and play with her foster siblings in the yard.

She gets along well with the 3 resident dogs and wanted to share this picture with you.

You may be wondering why such a wonderful dog is in RAGOM. I asked myself the same question. So, I did some research. Sadie initially lived in the country as an outside dog. Her owner decided he no longer wanted a dog, so he inquired how to euthanize her. Fortunately, he asked the right person and an intervention resulted in Sadie landing in the safety of RAGOM in 2007. She did fabulous in her foster home. Sadie was adopted right away. Sadie lived what appears to be a fabulous dog life for the next 4 years. I can tell that she was well cared for. Sadie was then returned to RAGOM, because she had a confrontation with a neighborhood small white dog, causing an injury. In my household I have a large white dog that had a rough start, so is testy. He has gone after Sadie a few times, and Sadie has been completely passive. As I noted in her first update, Sadie makes a notable effort to avoid any confrontations with the cherished tennis balls and gives my dogs space and respect.

So, I wondered if it was a size issue. Even though Sadie has been awesome with my two cats, even sharing the couch with them, and she is not prey driven, this was something I wanted to test out. So, we went on a walk in search of small dogs. We met a small dog on a leash that walked right past. Sadie paid no attention to it. Now, the small dog was well behaved and under control of its owner. So, I thought we would take it up a notch and try to find yipping small dog not on a leash. We actually came across a small poodle in its yard running around barking as we walked past. There was no fence separating us from the poodle. Again, no response from Sadie. Finally, as we ended our walk a small dog came charging out at us, barking like crazy. Fortunately, it was contained in a fence, but it did put on a good show. Again, no response from Sadie. So, from my experience with Sadie she is the most well behaved and loving dog I have come across. However, as with all dogs, I think we need to be diligent about keeping them out of troublesome situations.

Sadie continues to be just one of the best Goldens! She has been to a groomer now and is just smooth, shiny and in perfect form! She is doing wonderfully! Could not ask for a better girl!

This darling girl joined our family on 4/26/07 from Rapid City. Initially when she arrived, Sadie was uncertain and shy, but not real scared. She met our senior resident Golden Cheyenne who is 11. This went great. She proceeded to meet the other two resident dogs and everyone one did very well.Sadie enjoys and really loves our fenced-in back yard. She has eyes that really ‘look’ at you and ‘ask questions,’ I think. The eyes are really something. So are those darling ears!

Sadie is anxious to please, and a normal beautiful 2-year old girl. She had a very peaceful and quiet first night. She goes potty outside and is housetrained and no accidents at this point. She truly loves the company of the other resident dogs. She has ignored one cat and chased the other one.Sadie listens very very well. When you call her name she stops what she is doing and listens. Sadie definitely answers well to her name being called. She will sit and knows down too. I would have to say her FAVORITE thing to do it to fetch a squeaky toy, ball or whatever happens to be around. She could do this for a long time and she is very fast and she is a fit, healthy Golden.

In hearing other dogs in the neighborhood and dogs next door, she is fine. NO barking at all.She will look at other dogs with curiosity, and go back to fetching or back to being by us. The only bark I heard was when I came home, and all my other troops were barking, she thought she had to say one ‘bark’ too. I think she will let you know when someone is home or comes to door.

Sadie is about as sweet as they come. I have not seen any food aggression with other dogs. She will take a treat nicely. I think Sadie is much more interested in being by a human and having attention finally, a lot of it. Sadie had her vet check today and was microchipped. Sadie behaved very well at the office. She had a thorough exam and her behavior was very good. She was also fine with other dogs going in and out of the office.

She is such a doll when she puts her ears up!Sadie is very hungry for lovin’ as they all are and will need to understand the ‘sharing a human thing’ and she is not the only pet. Sadie is very very nice, and very pretty girl, and a super personality, a real lover and lap dog. She is 55# and not a big girl. A very nice thick golden/copper/dark red coat—a very nice coat which shines gold highlights in the sun. She is spayed and is a little over 2 years old. She is a good weight and in very good shape. She is very much interested in other dogs and also people. I have not had her around the grandkids yet but she fell in love with our 20 yr old daughter. We will know soon with young children but I will venture to say, she will be one happy camper. Sadie is fine around men as far as I know (transporters, husband, vet). She does great with my husband and really enjoys his company. Sadie would definitely require a fenced in yard. Preferably a big one to run and fetch. I have not crated her so I do not know how she is with that.
