Sadie 09-360

Profile
Please welcome sweet Sadie to the RAGOM family! Sadie is a 9 year old spayed, female, Golden Retriever/Lab mix. (She'll be 10 on 12/26... also my birthday!! :) ) She is a beautiful golden color with adorable long ears, and shorter more lab like fur. She is about 80lbs, which seems to be a near perfect weight for her. Ms. Sadie girl was very sadly surrendered to the humane society because her family had to move into an apartment and could not take her with them :( On her surrender form it said that they cried a thousand tears :( Poor Sadie has no idea what happened. The folks at the shelter said she just was always looking around, acting like she was waiting for them to come and get her. Sooooo sad!!!! It isn't her fault that things changed and the only family she had ever known couldn't continue to care for her. Now, what she needs is a FOREVER family that will give her all the love she deserves for the rest of her golden years! We can make that happen! YAY for RAGOM!!!
Sadie is pretty darn close to perfect. She is house trained, rides great in the car, gets along very well with other dogs (we have 2 goldens and 1 yorkie) has lived with babies to age 12 (we have a 5 month old) and is GREAT with kids! Cats are unknown, but I cannot imagine they would be a problem. She comes when called, sits/lays down/shakes (and maybe more?) on command. She is totally trustworthy with free roam, doesn't touch a single thing she shouldn't. She pulls a bit on the leash at first but settles nicely at your side, she has a perfect amount of spunk :) She jumped easily into the back of my SUV when we were fully prepared to lift her in! She had a bath tonight and was a perfect angel. She sat there while I scrubbed and rinsed, stood when I needed her to! Amazing! She loooved the brushing, but wasn't crazy about the nail trim... so we will save that for another day. It seems she will only get up on furniture when invited, and she will be invited a lot around here :) She loves to snuggle and gives the cutest nose nudges. She is just an all around sweet, mellow, very well behaved gal. She is one of those "move in ready" kinda doggies! It doesn't get much better than Sadie!
She will need to visit the vet for her wellness exam and microchip in the next day or two. We are treating a double ear infection that the shelter vet diagnosed. It looks like it is on its way to getting cleared up. Her skin is dry and she may have some allergy issues going on, but it doesn't look like anything major. It could be that she just needs some good quality food, which we are happy to provide! So, stay tuned for an update after her vet visit.
Sadie girl is a total love bug who is looking for someone to take a chance on her and love a senior golden! Trust me, you will not regret it! Loving a senior is the best thing in the whole wide world :) They ask for so very little and give you their everything. Stay tuned as we learn more about this gal, I am sure she will earn many fans... she is a true gem :) Thanks RAGOM for saving another beautiful life.
