Anakin came to live with Zoom for awhile before she finds her forever home. We know the wait wonât be long. Although she has only been here for a little more than a week, she has become one of Zoomâs best friends; and there are plenty of reasons why. Anakin is one of the most gentle, calm, even tempered Goldens we have ever had the pleasure in knowing. She is wonderful with other dogs; is playful and affectionate; she shows no signs of aggressive behavior of any kind; and she shares her toys without exception. She is an absolute delight. She loves attention and the outdoors. She has been running with Zoom in the park and loves it. She shows puppy-like enthusiasm when the Gentle Leader is lifted from the table. She walks perfectly down the path and runs by Zoomâs side. There is never a squabble, even when we meet other dogs in the dark. That is first for us.
She has one trait that we find endearing. When she gets excited when we return home after work, she smiles. It looks a bit like a dog snarling, but it is her signature smile and it is an unmistakable sign that she is very happy. She is housetrained and sleeps quietly through the night on her bed. If she needs to go out, she whines just loud enough to let us know. We have noticed that she prefers to do all of her âbusinessâ in her yard and rarely during her walks.
Anakin is a one in a million dog. She has all of the great traits of a Golden and none of the bad, except for chewing apart her soft toys. She would love to have another dog as a friend, but she is very adaptable and could fit into most families without a problem. By the way, she looks more like a Lab but her sister is 100% Golden.
