Sadie (Polly 09-258)

Profile

Sweet Miss Polly (aka Mini-Me) has arrived at her new foster home in Cedar Rapids.  She is approximately 8 months old, according to a vet who examined her, and weighs about 35 pounds.  She is a dark reddish gold with lovely thick fur and nice feathering.  She has not had any accidents in the house but we don't know  for sure if she is housebroken or not.

She was a stray in Iowa and was picked up by Ragom at the Cedar Falls shelter.  Unfortunately, it was there that she developed kennel cough so is now on meds for two weeks and can be spayed after that time.  She is getting along well with our resident dogs, golden Maren and shih tzu Yosi, and the cats.  Foster dad will begin his leash training today and we are working on other commands as well.  If you are looking for a young, smaller PB female, sweet Polly could be the dog for you.  Please contact your placement advisor for more information.

From Sadie's (fka Polly) forever family...

Dear RAGOM

We have had Sadie a little over a month now and could not be happier. She is loved by all, even our Siamese cat has befriended Sadie, and we are having a blast.

Sadie attended a lot of baseball games at the end of June and into July and was a hit with everyone who saw her. Sadie is learning to fetch and is getting more comfortable swimming at our cabin. She is even learning how to fish for sunnies and minnows in the shadows. She is very attached to our oldest son and sleeps with him every night.

We are very grateful for the gift of Sadie, and we look forward to seeing her Foster parents at the picnic on the 19th of September.

Here are a couple of recent photos of Sadie.

Polly was adopted today by a great Minnesota family and will now be called Sadie.  She will have two very nice boys to keep her busy, a new mom and dad and a feline sibling too.  Congratulations to the C family and Sadie.... another GReat match!

Polly (a.k.a. Minnie) has had a busy first four days at her foster home! She has been to the vet for all of her required shots. Her age was determined to be approximately 6 months, so her revised birthdate is now 1-1-2009. Her spay is set for next Wednesday. She is on meds for kennel cough for the next thirty days. She weighed in at 37 pounds. It will be interesing to see how much she adds on in the next week.

Doing very well with the Gentle Leader and enjoys all the sights around her. She is VERY quick to respond to commands of "come" and "no". She has been a little slower to learn the "sit" command, but is so excited about the treat she is about to get that she forgets to sit. She'll get it down pat pretty soon. Some jumping up on F/D, but that is less each day.

Polly has had some problems with car sickness, but that, too, is getting much better. Other than that, she travels well in the car.

She is a very calm dog for a young pup and knows how to rest! Behaves well in the house, does not bother the four cats, and enjoys being around the three other dogs. There has been no inappropriate chewing or housetraining accidents. She also kennels up nicely at night but she sure is excited in the morning to say hi and get her fair share of pats on the head.
